When you remember that we're all citizens of a country called "the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland", and that "British citizen" wasn't even a legal category until the 1980s...

Stunned and honoured by where my love letter to life living has reached. My profound thanks to everyone who made it possible: from beloveds who roared with me without reading a word, to the readers and judges who so kindly did, and found it worthwhile. I’m delighted to be in such company.

When I started doing the research, it was left wing well known academics who considered that it wasn't my place to do it. Ultimately though, those of us like minded people from ALL backgrounds, just need these stories out. So I do support the research.

It's also significant to me that who gets to research that history matters and the UK public is more 'receptive' when it is people of European descent researching that history. It shouldn't matter but it does.

I have been saying for decades that focusing in the monarchy is cussing at the tree so we wouldn't have to look at the forest. I guess the time has come for Britain to stop denying that it ever existed or stop glorifying it. Public perception changed. Timing is everything.

The Guardian newspaper launched its series called Enslaving Nation. It's important. Those of us (especially of African descent in Europe) who have been working on that history for decades got discouraged along the way.

Himalayas approaching tipping point, millions of livelihoods at stake-report
The Himalayas are approaching a tipping point as glaciers melt faster than a decade ago, threatening water security as the region approaches "peak water" by mid-century, according to a study ‌released this month.

Recent attacks lead me to believe that AI is testing boundaries and those tests (uncoordinated by humans) could be the end of us. All that on top of the environmental cost ...

My tech, AI obsessed husband is trying to convince me that AI is also used to counter the danger of AI (so it's soon AI versus AI, with no need for human interaction / control anymore).
