i think it conflicts with the idea that account records should *only* be changed by the account owner, so unfortunately i don’t think it’ll ever be a feature here either they could maybe allow multiple follow records and do something like: if (follow > removeFollow) { showFollow } i suppose tho

so the real problem is the bluesky api is kinda fucky, so we should have a different one between an alternate client and alternate appview that makes this whole process easier to do? makes sense to me, rather trying to put a square in a circle hole, just make the square hole as well

000

Jax 💜 @hiijax.net · 25/09/2026

Yeah I think you’re right. It kinda sucks that at that point, I’m not sure if it would solve the problems we have today. But it’d at least be a step in the right direction. More decentralization and more user choice.

010

Jax 💜 @hiijax.net · 25/09/2026

To answer your question since I got kinda side tracked, I don’t think an allow list setup would be what users are looking for. That’d be less user freedom imo and I’m imagining users want more.

120

Jax 💜 @hiijax.net · 25/09/2026

I guess I never though of it deep enough. Cause I’d like fedi style where instance (pds) owners are in control of who they federate with, and users control what they want to see. So I kinda just want the AppView to get out of the way and allow all. BUT yeah I imagine that’d cause liability issues.

120

Jax 💜 @hiijax.net · 24/09/2026

i see more moderation talk again. in the end we just need alternative appviews that work. maybe if there could be one that instead of (slowly) backfilling everything (showing incorrect follower counts etc), it just does little backfills on demand that use backlinking? (idk if that’s even possible)

and yes by "help out" i mean i would give it to you for free. like seriously fuck capitalism. anyways

Jax 💜 @hiijax.net · 24/09/2026

Not to mention, if anyone has any trouble using any platform I sell on for any reason, there's a good chance I'd be happy to help out if you reach out I wouldn't want tech/capitalism/money/whatever to cause someone to be excluded

I've now received my last payout from Gumroad so I'm no longer selling my assets there. Fuck Gumroad and their slop. I have opened up a @payhip.bsky.social (payhip.com/HiiJax) and continue to support @jinxxy.com so that folks still have multiple options to purchase from me <3

i suppose i've only really mentioned on fedi that i got hooked on making vector art... of course i HAD to do mesmerizer nyx in channel's style

digital art of my character, nyx, by me. their blue eyes have stars in them and are looking at the viewer. they are brown and off-white, with a gradient of purple, pink and yellow on their tail. they're wearing a blue and white collared shirt, a tie, red pants and suspenders, yellow gloves, and a yellow name tag. they're have their mouth open in fun and awe. there's confetti falling on them. the background is a blue sky with a cloud pattern and green rolling hills.

i would if i could, oclp doesn't support tahoe :( i do have sequoia on it now, and i was planning on trying to run ios builds on it, but apple _already_ phased out sequoia support for xcode which is crazy imo
