I did get out of town last weekend and have my first drink in MONTHS and started to remember why I stopped drinking. Oh well. It was a really, really good weekend with Alma pals. ❤️

The feral scream I screamed when I saw the HUD website this morning. What in the petty shit IS that. A reminder that America continues to be in a housing crisis and this shutdown will likely mean that MORE people will not be able to pay their mortgage/rent/bills. This division doesn't help people.

Both kiddo and I went to the dentist today. Only one of us got a prize. Once again, I am asking for a prize for adults who REALLY hate going to the dentist.

Grey Saturday afternoon here, so I am changing the color palette to brighten my mood. Picked up @badstitch.bsky.social 's Candypop Humpback Whale #wip and put in a few stitches. 🌈 #crossstitchersofbluesky #crossstitch

I'm catching up on @finefrogstitching.com 's Twigs and Tea framing, and I am absolutely loving the fall colors. All I want is a chilly, rainy day and to be cozy on my couch. #crossstitchersofbluesky

Anyway, I did finish my #frogustSAL. Shout out to @sproutinglupine.bsky.social for the pattern which I really enjoyed. It needs a press and a good frame but I love this piece.

Back with stitching content, look at this adorable piece I am working on called "Thunderstorm Nature Walk" for #frogustSAL by @sproutinglupine.bsky.social 🐸 #crossstitchersofbluesky

Guys I forgot to show you that I finished this piece by @stephxstitch.bsky.social . Taking framing suggestions. 🙂

In the wake of world chaos, I'm trying to focus on things that gave me joy. Today: - Haircut + "tattoo" for kiddo (see below) - Successful Costco run - Long nap - Good book - Mallards no-hitter game with friends. Good, solid Saturday.

kat l.h. @hihellokat.bsky.social · 17/06/2025

Anyway, I have four stitching projects in my queue and this is the only one I can share as the others are swaps/commissions/gifts. I know, how am I not done yet? 😜

Took a quilting class tonight and for three hours I was able to forget about the BS in the world and clear my head. Art helps. Enjoy my tiny quilting squares.

Mother's Day is not always my favorite holiday as a mom, but I do love the questionnaires that come from daycare at this time of year. He's right - I love to eat chicken wings.

5,100 stitches and one finish later...orts, orts, orts! My orts (leftover thread) from projects go into a glass box - makes for cool art. What about you?

RMKCT: I didn't let him out of the car to look at our magnolia tree. In my defense, we were running late to daycare/work.

Ok, back to stitch talk. Threadpoetic on insta recently won my heart with these TBS patterns that bring me back to 2003. The "Literate and Stylish" is totally going on my cube.

It brings me such joy to watch Gobo play with Spirit. We adopted Spirit a year after losing my sweet black cat, Leko. Gobo was so sad and didn't engage much during that year. I adopted Spirit on a whim and she's been such a great fit. Feels like she brought Gobo back to life. ❤️ #catsofbluesky

Just voted at the library. Let's go, Wisconsin! Lots on the ballot this year affecting our local community. Don't just look at the Supreme Court vote (even though it's REALLY important), but vote for the school board and alders, too! (And VOTE NO on 1)

kat l.h. @hihellokat.bsky.social · 23/03/2025

Anyway, I went to a weaving class today. I don't have a picture of the FFO because my kiddo asked for me to hang it in his room as soon as I finished (which, aww!), so here is the WIP pic.

I missed my therapy appointment, I'm a little over-anxious about someone not responding to me, and everyone else on my team is OOO, but hey, at least it's Friday and the barista was kind.

Surprise - TODAY was new car day! This just means I have one less thing to worry about (for now). Keeping it simple with an updated Tuscon, which was my last car.

My first part of my Nashville Needlework Market order came and I want to throw everything I'm working on to the side and devour this book From Quaternion Creations 💖 The intro starts "we are woven together through stitches and story" and it just gets better from there.

I tried to stitch this lovely SAL that I am way behind on, but i think I just need a new project to take out my anger on. I have the perfect one in my backlog - more tomorrow.
