Went to the shops to buy a six pack of beer. Couldn’t find any.

Saw a beaver, swimming through the middle of town, on my way home yesterday.

Not very convincing picture of a beaver swimming in the river in town. Water is brown and the there are green plants on the bank in the background.

I remember this one from Chuck Jones too.

Peter and the Wolf cover featuring a looney tunes style Peter and a big grey wolf.

Just saw this epic action.

A large bird of prey ( I think it is an eagle) is being harassed by a smaller one ( I think a buzzard)

Update from the teasel patch.

Five Goldfinches enjoying seeds on dried teasel stems. The plants are very spiky and the birds are all perched at different angles. The red faces, white undersides and yellow stripes on the birds' wings are very prominent.

Last night at the Zürich Film Festival.

Shadows of the people watching celebrities arrive at the Zürich Opera House. The wall of the opera house is green lit and the shadows stand in black. The foreground is wet stone and the shadows look reflected in it. Two windows in the wall are pinkish in the green light.

Pretty aeroplanes from a few weekends back.

A yellow biplane with a Swiss flag on the rear fin is landing in front of a row of other aircraft at tree lined airfield in Switzerland. The biplane is a 1939 Bücker Bü 131 Jungmann.

A light grey biplane with a radial engine is rolling along a concrete taxiway. It has just released a big cloud of white smoke which now forms a background. The plane is a Boeing Stearman PT-13D/N2S-5.

Cat on a hot tin roof.

A ginger cat on a corrugated roof. Cat is looking directly into the camera and doesn’t seem amused.

Some wintery pictures taken on New Year's Day. Before the weather changed.

Snow scenery seen through bare trees

A snowy field with foot tracks leading in different directions. In the distance there are mountains and fog filled valleys. The sky is blue. A single tree is on the right hand side.

Mountains and a fog-filled valley seen in the distance. In the foreground a snowy field.

Went for short walk above the fog today. Very cold but beautiful views.

Snowy landscape at sunset with a treeline in the horizon and a fog-filled valley in the distance.

A snowy landscape with a tree-covered hill and mountains on the distance. It is just after sunset and the sky is orange to blue on the horizon.

A snow covered field with fog in the wooded valleys in the background. The Sun has just set and the sky is a mixture of blue and orange hues.

Very mindful, very demure.

White ceramic mug on a kitchen counter. Pictured on the mug is a purple alligator with blue eye shadow carrying a parasol. The alligator is looking down and away from the viewer in a demure way.

Our local sledging hill looking like a Breugel painting today.

Snow covered slope, a few trees with blue sky and fluffy clouds. In the distance tiny figures sledging.
