Yeah fuck it, just moved it all over and updated my direct deposit info at work. Gonna call them to close the chequing account tomorrow once my next paycheck is in and then Ill see about transferring what's in the emergency fund. I can pay the Credit Union MasterCard with wealthsimple, thankfully.

It's so annoying because historically I keep a wide buffer but it's been such an expensive year I'm trying to put what I can back into my emergency fund Just... Augh.

Scare-ika West @highflywestguy.bsky.social · 9h

I should just move everything to wealthsimple or tangerine at this point man

My bank leverages a $12 service fee if you drop below 2500 in your chequing account in the previous month. It's been a pricey year, and in August I dropped below it. I thought I made sure I had enough in it now that I'm solvent again, but surprise surprise:

Yeah lol Pretty sure they got rid of the asbestos when they renovated the place a few years ago but I'm messaging the assets manager just in case

Oh I'm okay, it's just really friggin loud Also they managed to drill through the roof...

Scare-ika West @highflywestguy.bsky.social · 12h

Oh I wasn't clear sorry, there's no active threat besides noise! They're throwing shit on the roof and it's very loud and annoying

Scare-ika West @highflywestguy.bsky.social · 12h

I am so glad I get to leave my bed early so I can go sit in a building where there are roofers constantly throwing shit down just above my head lol Really conducive to a good work environment

this will be funny to like 3 people but I’m one of them and that’s all that matters

The poster for The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover, but it’s been edited to include And Knuckles at the end of the title, and Knuckles has been edited into the photo of the cast

As sad as I am that so many trails in the park are being abandoned, it's hard to ignore that the cameras on those abandoned trails contain a significantly higher amount of cougars, Wolverines, wolves and Moose

The "1973 Philadelphia Flyers!" joke when Flanders is introducing the evil jury for Homer's trial got a huge laugh from my dad and no one else in my family

Oh my god that's actually really cool! The fact that they're all relatively meaningless yet there can still be favourites is a nice touch

Oh my gosh that actually rules!! A bumper crop of lil' sprisks to loom and lord over... Probably all starkly different from the original by now!

"Have you thought about the ethical implications about cloning yourself for this? Like how they might feel?" "Not really I get to imagine myself being obliterated by all my friends." "Yeah but from their perspective-" "Look it's hot and I got a box of a dozen, do you want one or not?"

Scare-ika West @highflywestguy.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

You're friends, right? You've been friends! Hell, you remember helping them out multiple times and they in turn have been there for you in your darkest hour! So why not now... And how can they still be so warm to that massive you while disregarding this you...

120

Scare-ika West @highflywestguy.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

If we had to worry about every single clone of our friends we'd just never even be able to rest! So long as the original is okay, that's fine. Even if the others do retain all those memories...

I always feel like an old man walking around Banff nowadays because I keep pointing out what's different from when I lived here. "Ehhh oh yeah there used to be a Keg Steakhouse there..."
