So glad you like that track. It's so damn good. Hard to pack that much emotion into a single voice. Have you seen Maphras covers? They are equally filled with so much emotion.

LLVM 22.1.0 is out! This release was handled by new Release Manager Cullen Rhodes who I have had the privilege to mentor through this process. He did a fantastic job. Go checkout the release notes: discourse.llvm.org/t/llvm-22-1-...

There is a chance it will be boycotted, I saw an article in the Swedish news that Swedes have more or less completely stopped buying American alcohol, cars, food imports over the last year. And I suspect no one will change their mind with the current news. Talk about soft power destruction

@skillup.bsky.social hey. Just a quick shoutout, I heard your MacroFactor ad around 3 months ago, I was already trying to lose weight at that point, but your ad had me check it out and it has been a god send. I have been on a cut for 100 days and just reached my goal, around -20kg. Thanks!

Two talks submitted for EuroLLVM 2026! Hope to get them accepted (I think they are bangers), see you there!

What a day! First day with the fine folks at @larianstudios.com - the todo list is enormous, but the people is so welcoming and positive. This is going to be great. After that full day of data inhalation I went out for dinner with @kbeyls.bsky.social and it was nice to nerd out with a fellow LLVMer!

Yeah - it takes quite a bit of adaptation to get to the very high protein intake. But it feels like it's working, I feel myself growing stronger and I am satiated for longer periods after I switched up some of my diet and started taking protein powder. But very individual for sure.

Fun! Welcome to Sweden. Let me know if you need a restaurant or attraction tips - happy to supply - I love Stockholm.

Tobias Hieta @hieta.se · 02/01/2026

I am not done. I want to lose a bit more, but then I will switch from losing weight to maintaining which will be another challenge.

030

Tobias Hieta @hieta.se · 02/01/2026

Weight loss is very individual, but here is what helped me lose 18kg over the last 6 months. I used the app "MacroFactor" to log what I eat, I replaced my lunch with a meal shake, I focused on my protein intake, gym 3x/week and 10k steps the other days. Motivation is the key, and I had it.

Graph of my trend weight going down 17.8kg.

Job update: I am leaving Ubisoft at the end of the year. I am very proud of the work I did on compiler optimizations on AC: Shadows and I will miss my co-workers there dearly. In the new year I will join the fine folks over at @larianstudios.com and work on compilers and builds. I am very excited!

I worked quite a bit on the toolchain stuff for this, hitting a consistent 30FPS was a hugely collaborative endeavour between toolchain, rendering and other engine work. It's the first time we ship a game with CSPGO as well, which helped in dense areas. Hope you enjoy! youtu.be/3oTfnzXb8OE?...

Hey! No worries at all. I understand exactly, you don't really want to wake up to a lot of screaming always ;) The whole EP of Sheoru is worth listening to, but don't do it during a breakup, the texts are really ... something if you are in a specific headspace.

Personal note - this release was pretty stressful, with a ABI break found in the last week before release and lot of merge problems with PRs. Hopefully the point releases will be small and drama free :cope:
