✨ Happy Star Wars Day everyone! ✨ Time to reveal one of the new #TukkTales characters: Commander Faust of the Coruscant Guard. More on him soon, but for now I'll let this animation speak for itself. 🫡👀

Had a blast creating it, building new 3D assets for Rex, the 501st and 332nd clones, modeling (half) a gunship, designing custom painting tools for the clones to use, and more...

It was an honor to contribute this piece to the @theclonewarszine charity fan zine alongside so many incredible artists and their stunning work!

Turntable animation of my AT-RT asset in 241st / Hill Company colors. Had some extra fun with this one and added a small battle scene with sound fx to it. Enjoy! #StarWars #CloneWars #TukkTales #fanfilm

...I am doing a "Tukk Tales sabbatical" the next couple of months, where I scale down my freelance job by a lot, so I can focus on the film for a while and finally make some faster progress! So the release is not quite around the corner yet, but things are happening!

010

Jan // High Ground Animations @hganimations.bsky.social · 14/04/2025

Hey, thanks for your patience! There's no release date yet, since it's a personal no-budget project that I can only work on in my spare-time, which makes it hard to schedule. Still lots of work ahead & progress has been slower than I had hoped, BUT...

The first three episodes of Andor (Season 1, 2022) are available on YouTube. If you never watched this great show, it's time.

Thank you so so much for sticking with me and supporting my project despite the quietness (and me kinda sucking at social media lol)! It'll be worth the wait! HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🎉 (And a special thanks to Luis Humanoide for his incredible #TukkTales music used in this clip) 4/4

BUT! I'm as committed and motivated as ever and 2025 is the year I want to take some bolder steps to allow myself to focus more on #TukkTales, even if it means scaling back on freelance work. I'm in the middle of making some exciting plans and can't wait to share updates with you soon! 3/4

• Got to wear some amazing new cosplays crafted by @seku_teska_cosplay 💙 • And yes, also made progress on #TukkTales... ...although not as much as I had hoped. Finding the spare time to work on such an elaborate no-budget personal project can be tricky. 2/4

Goodbye 2024, hello there 2025! 🥳🎉🌟 Those were some busy 12 months: • Worked on a LOT of fun and diverse freelance jobs • Moved to a new city • Met a ton of lovely people at conventions and attended FMX Conference for the first time (eternal thanks to @hranimator), what a blast! 1/4

As 2024 ends let’s all be nicer in 2025 and don’t trash fellow animators or writers or filmmakers on social media. You never know who reads your tweets. It’s so unprofessional. And I’m not talking constructive criticism (even that isn’t always asked for).

I initially modelled them because my S.O. cosplays Tech & wanted accurate ones to 3d print. 😄 Was fun painting them in the style of the show with actual paint for once!

Jan // High Ground Animations @hganimations.bsky.social · 24/12/2024

Good catch!! But no, I want to stay away from any official characters (aside from generic ones like battle droids etc.) in the short. These tools are only gonna be used for set dressing, just like in The Clone Wars before they were repurposed for Tech's model.

It was the same for me! Initially thought it was gonna be one of "those" adult cartoons, but then it gradually revealed its heart & charm & I was hooked. Honestly I wasn't even that much into Star Trek before, now I'm watching through the whole original series haha

Jan // High Ground Animations @hganimations.bsky.social · 22/12/2024

100%! Part of me thinks it's good to end a show before it potentially loses its quality/appeal, but Lower Decks was still far from that imo, definitely felt too early to say goodbye. At the same time I'm just glad that show exists at all & the score has no right to be this good! 🥰

I'm curious tho, as someone who was too young to be online or active in the fandom when the Prequels released, how do you think the hate compares? From your personal perception I mean, I know it can't really be measured objectively.

Jan // High Ground Animations @hganimations.bsky.social · 15/12/2024

Ha same! While I do get where a lot of the criticism is coming from, I was just stoked about them trying such a new direction & having something new to say in a franchise that already said so much. And gosh it just has a certain vibe to it I unapologetically love.

I just love how unsubtle SM-33's name is. 😂 Or many of the other homages & classic tropes the show is brimming with. But they make it all work and fit into the universe in the most charming ways. Having a blast with it so far!

Jan // High Ground Animations @hganimations.bsky.social · 07/12/2024

100%! Pleasently surprised by the fandom's overall reaction. And the show rocks! 😍

Short battle scene test I made about 2.5 years ago. 🎬 Marks the first time all the assets & workflows I've created up until that point came together in one finalized scene. Also the first time showing Captain Tukk in action. Pew Pew! 💥✨ #StarWars #CloneWars #fanfilm #TukkTales
