A friend designed the app icon for Unplayed. Unplayed is a listen-later app for music releases. Seeing it as a real icon made the whole thing feel a little more real. If you’d like to try the beta when it’s ready, you can request TestFlight access here: unplayed.heyshigeru.com #buildinpublic

This insight led him to design an AI-powered app that integrates language learning into daily life. With KaChiKa, you simply take a photo, and the app instantly analyzes the scene’s elements, automatically adding word labels that can be tapped for pronunciation. apps.apple.com/app/id674019...

Albums, EPs, and singles I rated 4.5+ stars in February. 45 albums rated 4.5+ stars, though over half were re-listens. Funny how my listening habits reveal my mental state—when I’m in a funk, the music practically stops.

I looked it up - it turns out the quick search functionality using ⌘ + K has been there all along; Spotify is just now displaying this shortcut on the search bar itself.

After the Spotify update, while the Now-Playing Panel cannot be completely hidden, you can now also bring up the search bar using ⌘ + K.

Cover design, in particular, is a significant draw for a listener like me, who values visual presentation as much as listening experience—in essence, judging albums by their covers. (However, the number of Reid Miles’s works associated with TIDAL is remarkably few.) (2/2)

Shigeru @heyshigeru.bsky.social · 09/01/2025

For me, TIDAL’s greatest appeal lies not in its renowned audio quality, but rather in its provision of more comprehensive behind-the-scenes album information than other music streaming platforms—encompassing details from performing musicians and photography to cover design. (1/2)
