Character reference sheet of Flowziren, a githzerai psion turned mindflayer, clothed in circus attire and posed on a hoop swing.

Her original name was Zi’ren. She was a middle-aged prior to transformation. By some series of events she joins Lucretious and the Circus of Lost Days as an acrobat. She disguises herself with her former form, as she is wholly ashamed of her present self, and traumatized from becoming the form of her people’s ancient foe. To help her along, Lucretious fashions her a new stage name: “Flowziren.” The friends she eventually makes over time at the circus, and a temporary addition to the troupe (Gads) has her eventually come to terms with her identity…and ultimately, take Gad’s term of endearment for her as her own: Flowlithid.

Her story takes place after the events in BG3, in another place entirely. Her yellow eye is a replacement from Lucretious, having been injured defending Zethino from Orin. Flow made her aware of the dopplegangers, but Lucretious did not want to cause a panic with the visitors there. Hence, she had Flow recover nearby, and moved her tent and her skeleton dancers in eyeshot of the fake Dribble and animal handlers – ready in case they threatened anyone. Conveniently, the player/companions who appeared later took care this.

Character reference sheet of Ghadeos (Gads if disguised). His color palette are deep greens with red accents. His circus outfit are also red, black and grey - appropriated from Flow’s former rival.

He is a fugutive ulitharid, 122 years old. He was formerly a drow artificer who was “submitted” by his House to a colony they partnered with for physical and mental experimentation. Among the results are his dark, cthulhu-esque appearence and a third eye that can convert his mind blast ability into a mind beam (effectively a laser). The work on him became a template for their own enhancements. They never get that far as he eliminates the colony, and consumes own former drow relations as retaliation. Curiously, he leaves a handful of people alive who treated him decently in his former life, but parts ways.

He is hunted by another mind flayer colony for “reasons.” He evades them by slipping into a crowd at the Circus of Lost Days. There he notices Flow during a performance. Despite looking like a gith, he sees past her illusion for her true form, and glimpses her surface thoughts which fascinates him. And after learning about the method of travel the circus uses, he convinces Lucretious (as a drow) to hire him on temporarily as a stagehand, aiming to travel with them when they jump planes and be free of his pursuers.

And get close to Flow without her noticing - while keeping her from seeing his thoughts to safeguard his own identity. Two disguised mind flayers in a circus…what could possibly go wrong? 🥴
