I went last Feb and spent most of my time in Osaka. I also spent probably too much time shopping. One last rec is if you like architecture. The Edo-tokyo open air architecture museum. It lets you walk through houses from the edo period through the 1950s. Also a full meiji era market street

the multilevel malls almost all have boutique small businesses, nerd stuff or popups on their upper floors that you won't know about unless you go up or are looking for something specific. The Kyoto mandarake is on the 4th and 5th floor of a mall and shares those floors with some very cools shops.

I'm not super familiar with DC but I always figured that Batman would make a better yellow lantern than green. Not only does he use fear as a tool. He had a traumatic experience as a child and then spent 20 years letting the fear from that experience mold him into what he is.

Now the reason why we don't see those cancer survivors and others represented in the corp more is because the ring is still a tool of violence and so requires a user with a broader capacity for violence such as people with military or law backgrounds.

My head canon is that Willpower is an attribute built in the act of overcoming obstacles bigger than yourself. Clark has will but doesn't need to exercise it nearly as much as regular humans. There are 10,000 cancer survivors, single mothers, political prisoners and trans kids that have more will.

While I'm not a big superman or F4 fan this is why I like Lex Luthor & Dr Doom. Both are rich assholes that are convinced they are the hero of the story and that conviction is what makes them evil. Nothing else is needed.

It's like they misunderstand the fundamentals of a mascot. A mascot by itself isn't marketing, it's like a marketing battery. They need to "charge it up" invest marketing in the mascot first before they can turn it around and make it work for them.

They could just use one of the characters they already have more often untill it becomes iconic. Mario was never a great design. But Nintendo insisted on putting him in all of their marketing and at least 1 full price game a year for 40 years. Now he is more recognizable than many gods.

One could argue that the early, shorter, copyrighting periods of 14 or 28 years were appropriate for the aims of protecting small artists. But once the period expanded further it was more about propping up IP conglomerates and monopolizing ideas. Id kill for a reversion to the old copyright terms
