Exactly. I want to say to them- if you have good enough chances in life, education & good enough health to have a job where you pay NI, I'm pleased for you. But those are more due to chance of birth than anything. Even what gains you make by working hard, welfare isn't about being rewarded.

Just to clarify, for anyone facing this procedure... it *is* done with a long needle (not a knife obvs) and there is some pain... but it doesn't take long and is worth it imo.
