Hey if you like low maintenance lettuce, might I suggest Kratky-style hydroponics? You start the seeds in plain water, transfer them to a container of nutrient water, and that's it until harvest time. I grow mine in repurposed trash on the window sill.

Here's the commission for @fellowrabbit.bsky.social featuring their dragon Kapua! I love getting to paint full backgrounds, although I rarely do lol. Also, this has to be my favorite cameo featuring @manamans.bsky.social re-imagined as an oblique-banded sweetlips fish LOL #art #dragon #furry
Digital illustration of an aquatic dragon with the coloration of a clown fish. It is swimming through a colorful coral reef scene chasing a white and navy fish. Its webbed paws are raised to catch the fish, and a mischievous smile shows a mouth full of shark-like teeth. Its body is a vibrant, shimmering orange banded with black-lined white stripes. Translucent fins run down its body.

While I finish up this big illustration commission, have some positively ancient #art from a folder labeled, "from the void" LOL. I didn't realize I had copies of some of the work from my teenage deviantArt account! I think this was from the early 2010's? Featuring the lovely @rathios.rawr.no
Marker drawing of a blue and white feathered dragon standing on a mountainside. He is looking over his shoulder with feathered wings partially unfolded. His body is sky blue with a white underbelly, and black stripe separates the colors. He has a feathery crest starting from the crown of his head and running down his spine to his tail, which concludes in a back-tipped feather fan.

And here's the finished suit! Didn't have time for very many pictures before shipping it off to FWA. Much thanks to @capnsboots.bsky.social for staring into the eyes of the sun for this shot +____+ I'm very pleased with this given that it came together in just 10 days! #fursuit #furry #art
Photo of someone in a black graphic tee, black jeans, and a fursuit partial sitting in a sunny patch of grass. They are surrounded by dandelion puffballs with a wood fence in the background. Their fursuit head is an Australian shepherd dog with a friendly, neutral smile and bright blue eyes. He is also wearing paws on his hands and feet. Closeup photo of the dog fursuit mask in the workshop. It has a friendly, someone perky expression. It is ivory white and silver grey with a pale caramel stripe separating those colors. The ears are a charcoal grey with a bright pink interior that peeks from behind the fold. The eyes are blue and framed by black lashes and white eyebrows.

Additional elements like the hood and neck cowl were modeled in Blender, unfolded in Pepakura, and cleaned up in Affinity Designer before being cut and sewn. This could all be done by hand, but I have the digital tools so I may as well use them :B #art #furry #WIP #fursuit

The mesh is split at the seams of various polygon faces. The same mesh flattened in the 2d window of pepakura. The chaotic 3d mesh is reduced to four pieces with some overlapping faces. Around this time it became clear that Capns was not going to hit the con deadline, so I took over finishing the mask as well. I began with the standard tape patterning approach, but chose to digitize them for cleaner results. Bootes ordered stretch fur which freed me up from a LOT of extra darts.

The base took nearly 5 days straight of printing, but the finished result is surprisingly strong and light. The shell is 3mm thick and held together with CA glue and plastic welds. I used 20mm chicago bolts for the hinge. #art #WIP #furry #fursuit

I finished up this digital sculpt commission for my friend. It's prop from the movie Zeiram 2 :D I did the sculpture and they printed and finished it. In spite of having owned a 3d printer for like 10 years, I still get so excited seeing my sculpts in real life 😭😭 #art #3Dprint #kamalite
Translucent, glossy green 3D print of a small statue figurine. It depicts a feminine figure with a somewhat abstracted robe draped from her crown and puddling at her feet. A gem is nestled in the fabric over her serene face. She stands on a bed of flat rocks which are layered over a hemisphere of stylized dirt. Three golden peg feet protrude from the dirt and keep the figure upright. The photo is taken on a desk with glowing PC fans in the background.Screenshot of the same glossy green statue from the digital sculpture software. The figure floats in front of a flat grey background.Photo of various props from the movie, including the translucent green figurine. The move prop is less symmetrical and a bit hard to read, but is otherwise a clear match for the recreated copy.

One of my commissions is a 3D printable fursuit base. I built a geometry node tool that lets me add procedurally generated perforations to a mesh based on vertex painting :3 I know it's pretty simple, but man I love automating things! This will work on any mesh. #b3d #furry #fursuit #WIP #blender

You know what, while I'm working through a detailed commission I could be posting from my massive backlog of art from before I was on Bluesky :v This was a wedding gift for the lovely @rathios.rawr.no and his wife a few years ago <3 #art #dragons #furry
Two dragons are curled around each other floating in a bubble in a pink and purple stormy sky. One is a sky blue with white horns and accents on a feather crest that runs from his forehead down his spine. His feathered wings are sky blue with feathers that fade to white and then charcoal black. He is curled around another furry, feathered dragon with a pelt of rich orange and gold. Her feather crests fade from chocolately brown to crimson to gold with similar accenting on her feathers. She is cradled in the blue dragons arms and has one paw gently pressing his face into hers.

Tried really pushing the foreshortening and lighting with this one! The perspective didn't quiiiiiiite pan out how I hoped, but it was good practice!
Digital portrait of Avira the dragoness. Her head is pointed directly at the viewer while her eyes look off-screen, causing her face to be heavily foreshortened. She is back lit by the sun, casting dramatic shadows across her figure with blazing white rim lighting. A lens flare scatters bokeh across her face.

Continuing to play around with a painted style with the specific goal of being fast enough to be a feasible commission type. This particular speed painting approach wasn't it, but I think she came out nice enough to post! #art #dragon #speedpainting
Digital speed painting of Avira the dragoness. She is laying on her back with all four paws int he air. Her wings are half-folded with the feathers framing her body. One paw is held outward where a blue butterfly rests on a delicately offered claw. her fuzzy tail snakes behind her, and her vibrant indigo belly scales glint fuscia in the light.

Futzing around with a more painterly style, which used to be my favorite until I lost access to Photoshop (and hence my most beloved blending brush LOL). This is still pretty sketchy, but, I would love to keep developing this look <3 #art #dragon
Sketchy digital bust painting of Avira the dragoness' new design. Her fur is a dark grey that fades to deep charcoal on her snout and ear tips. A blaze of silver runs down her forehead and frames her eyes which are a vibrant indigo violet. Her triple horns and neck scales are the same vivid purple with iridescent highlights in fuscia. She has a crest of charcoal fur that runs from between her horns down the back of her neck. Avira's mouth is open in a friendly smile, revealing silver teeth and a purple forked tongue.

And now for something I've been cooking up in the background: Avira's latest re-design! I'm still noodling with the details, so I'll post a ref sheet after I've tested this design in a couple more illustrations. But I'm very happy with this latest version <3 #art #dragon
Flat-shaded digital drawing of Avira the dragoness. She is viewed from below soaring through a pink and purple cloud-filled sunset. Her broad, feathered wings are spread wide and her limbs are tucked beneath her. A slender, graceful tail tipped with long, silky fur trails through the air behind her. Her body is mostly grey that fades to charcoal on her extremities. Faint stripes accentuate the transition on her upper arms and thighs. A charcoal mane runs from forehead to tail and is longest on the crest of her neck and base of her tail. Her secondary feathers sport charcoal spots with a flash of indigo iridescence on the primaries. A clawed digit is nested among the feathers at her wing wrist. A flash of vibrant iridescent violet scales runes from chin to 2/3 of the way down her tail. The same hue is seen on her triple set of curved horns, her claws, and her paw pads. A single gleaming fang can be seen in her smiling mouth.

And finally we have the last photo paint over commission! This one features @appledectomy.bsky.social enjoying Pittsburgh from a unique vantage point :D I got experimental with this and made it lineless. It adds a lot of time, but I think it makes the figures more immersive! #art #macro #furry
Photo taken from a hotel window several stories off the ground looking at other high rise buildings in Pittsburgh. A massive yellow elephant is drawn seated on one building while resting his arm on another. His hand with blunt white nails drapes over the edge. He is wearing black shorts and has one foot raised and resting on the wall of his seat. The other hand rests on his round belly, and his golden trunk drifts towards the streets below. A tuft of rich brown hair sprouts from between his wide ears and compliments a mustache and bushy eyebrows. He has a soft expression as he looks down at the street with its tiny sized people. The moon shines brightly in the top right corner of the photo, casting rim lighting on his arm and head. The rest of him is lit softly by city lights from the streets and buildings.

Flat shaded digital illustration of two dragons holding paws and touching noses. Their slender necks are curved in the shape of a heart and they are framed by a pink heart in front of a textured purple background. The dragon on the left is larger, and he is pale blue with a white countershading. A black stripe runs down his neck, separating the blue from white fur. A crest of white-tipped blue feathers runs from his forehead to the base of his neck and is framed by two white horns. he has a gentle smile and his golden eyes are partially closed. His partner is several shades of vibrant gold, saffron, and ruby with details in a rich, chocolatey brown. Her countershading is cream that is separated from her vibrant fur with a brown stripe. Her horns have a more pronounced curve than her sky-blue counterpart, and their brown segments are edged in gold. Iridescent orange scales are nestled in the fur of her neck. She is gazing lovingly back at her partner.

More giants at the beach! This time it's Nikki belonging to @ktqtpi.bsky.social enjoying a late afternoon in the waves ^-^ As an aside, I should probably update this commission type from "sketches" because I keep over-rendering them oops |D #art #macro #furry
Digital drawing of a massive anthropomorphic shark rendered over a drone photo of a beach. She is lounging on her back with one leg bent and leaning slightly over the other with one arm supporting her head while the other rests on her slim belly. She has a bob of wily, vibrant blue hair held back in part by an orange visor. Long, shark-fin-shaped ears protrude from her azure locks. Her eyes are half-closed as she gazes at the beach full of tourists. They are like ants compared to her massive size. A thick shark tail is draped casually over a sea wall with the tip fading into a deep teal. It is late afternoon and she casts a long shadow onto the waves as water gently laps at her hips, limbs, and shoulders where they meet the ocean.

Digital character drawn over a photo taken from the window seat of a plane. The image depicts a massive anthropomorphic phoenix character striding through the ocean towards the plane. He is hundreds of feet tall, and the water only goes mid-way up his shins. One feathered arm is extended forward and holds a massive fireball. His orange face and yellow beak are fixed in a cocky smirk as he wades towards the viewer. Between the triple crests of spikey feathers that grow from each side of his head, a crest of firey black feathers runs from his forehead down the nape of his neck. He has a golden yellow belly and legs with orange feathers covering his back, thighs and arms. His tail and arms have vibrant red feathers around the sides, and firey bolts border the orange that flows down his thighs.

Digital drawing of a massive green anthropomorphic dragon looming over a city skyline. The viewer is looking up between buildings at the underside of an airplane that is directly in front of the dragon's smiling face. His scales are kelly green with a wild mane of golden hair falling around his head and shoulders. A deep green bandana is unsuccessfully restraining it. Tan scales trail down his neck and chest which are occluded by skyscrapers. One massive paw is supported on a building with his white claws resting delicately on the facade. His vibrant orange eyes are focused on the airplane and his mouth is open in a wide, friendly smile that reveals a pink tongue and white teeth.

Close up shot of the small figures from the aforementioned artwork. One is wearing a blue jacket with grey pants. Grey wings and a tail with dark tiger stripes protrude from their back while iridescent violet horns grow from their head. Digital illustration of a massive blue anthropomorphic dragon emerging from behind a waterfall. The figure is a digitally drawn over a photo. The dragon is hundreds of feet tall, and his smooth skin is glossy with water. His lower half is partially obscured by the waterfall which runs down his legs in torrents, splashing off big blue plate-like scales on his thighs. A thick tail lined with fins snakes out from behind him and is cupped upward. Mist obscures his feet. He is looking down with a friendly smile at two characters on the rocks below.
