Photo, (very poor, sorry!), of one of last year's juvenile Cooper's to hatch and grow here with three siblings. Miracle of miracles- the mom, (I'm presuming,) has managed to nest under my very nose and has 3 new white downed babies! Talk about a cure for depression!!!

As I usually only check out the Birds! line, I'm pretty happy and the photos and count results soothe my soul. Is there any one entity or person to whom Iay say thank you? I also include the merry multitude of posters who share their many successes and few mishaps. If this fits you, thank you!!!

Picture shows a small Buff Brahma bantam, a purebred show chicken who lived in the house with our family. She was such a loving little pet, as chickens tend to be. This was taken in 2002, before she became ill. I miss her, as she was family.

When Robin was still acquiring her plumage. And yes, she's mad. I ran out of waxworms!

Downy's for catching your interest! I've a query I've considered for a few years. Does anyone know if Grackles and/or Redwings attack and eat the brains if sparrows and finches? I've seen Grackles make feints at smaller birds under feeders, seen corpses, but no actual killing. Has anyone seen this?

Sen Bernie Sanders Totally insane. First, a gym full of people. Then an overflow crowd. Then an overflow-overflow crowd, and an overflow-overflow-overflow crowd. More than 9,000 people came out in Warren, MI to say NO to oligarchy & NO cuts to Social Security, Medicaid, and VA programs.

A temporary houseguest, though I didn't catch her name. Lovely manners, though.

A fishing spider, about 2 inches in circumference, rests on our nathroom carpet, as though undecided which way to go. A mason jar ring is placed near her for scale, and one of her multiple eyes shines from the phone's flash.

A closeup of the same lady, just waiting for me to go away. I did, granting her the solitude she sought.

I have a question regarding salamanders, but couldn't find a specific group to help. I remember seeing, years ago, a 3 inch, orange, adorable salamander with black or brown spots, two rows along its back. They were dots, not rings, as in a red newt. Area is central Kentucky and wet scrubland.

I was finally able to catch some poor shots of the Eurasian Collared Doves that had visted our feeders late in 2022 and summer of 2023. I was elated, but our local Audubon group just yawned. Unfortunately, they've not been seen or heard since that fall. Cats, I believe.

My poor attempt to photograph the Eurasian Collared doves that visited our feeders in summer of 2023. The black partial ring on the neck was topped by an uneven band of white.

Found these visitors on my calla lilies a few years ago, and thought, "how pretty!" Accidentally brushed against one, then turned the air blue with X rated words!

No touch caterpillars on my calla lily from a few years ago. They are beautiful little buggers, l8me gteen with a white outline, with brown heads and tails. And a "saddle" of brown on their backs. Do NOT touch!!!

This was from summer last year. Sorry for the poor quality, but I use my phone and usually while I'm watching the bird, not the view-finder! I love Downeys!
