In Stephen King's "On Writing" he discusses the problem with ambiguous antecedents and pronouns in general. We can reduce pronoun usage. For example, Debra came back and gave David a kiss. Versus she came back and gave him a kiss.

Making sure you have a current passport is a good piece of advice. Some of my family members had to escape Iran during the Iranian revolution by riding over the mountains into Turkey. Having a current passport can help in situations like that.
