I can’t get enough of Sekiro. I just wish they had made a sequel or at least another game with the same style of combat, but expanded and refined.

Totally get this—I’m a huge Kingdom Hearts fan, but I barely interact with the fandom anymore. The whole KH3 thing was exhausting. I loved it, flaws and all, but saying that online felt like inviting arguments. It sucks when loving a game makes you feel like you have to defend it.

130

Hennesley @hennesleyvo.bsky.social · 28/01/2025

I know how you feel. I've seen loads of people fight over a game—one person thinks it’s bad, another says it’s their favorite. Games are so subjective, and not every title needs to be perfect to bring someone joy. At the end of the day, it’s about having fun. Let people enjoy what makes them happy!

140

Hennesley @hennesleyvo.bsky.social · 28/01/2025

10/ The next time you’re tempted to nitpick something, ask yourself: is it really worth the energy? Games are meant to bring people together, not tear them apart. Let’s make gaming a more positive space for everyone. 🎮

Hennesley @hennesleyvo.bsky.social · 28/01/2025

9/ Imagine how much better the gaming community would be if we focused more on what we love instead of what we hate. Celebrate the games you enjoy, provide constructive feedback when it’s warranted, and let others have their fun.

140

Hennesley @hennesleyvo.bsky.social · 28/01/2025

8/ Here’s the truth: no game will ever be perfect. Games are made by humans, and humans make mistakes. But at the end of the day, games are about fun. Not everything needs to be analyzed to death or held to impossible standards.

152

Hennesley @hennesleyvo.bsky.social · 28/01/2025

7/ It’s exhausting for everyone involved. Developers feel demoralized. Gamers feel like they can’t just enjoy a game without being “wrong” in some way. And the online discourse becomes a battlefield instead of a celebration of the medium.

120

Hennesley @hennesleyvo.bsky.social · 28/01/2025

6/ The constant negativity creates a toxic cycle. Devs work hard to make something creative, only to have it torn apart immediately. Fans get caught up in endless debates, and instead of enjoying games, we spend more time arguing about them.

120

Hennesley @hennesleyvo.bsky.social · 28/01/2025

5/ This doesn’t mean criticism is bad. It’s important to hold developers accountable, especially when games launch broken or incomplete. But there’s a difference between valid critique and picking apart every little detail just for the sake of it.

130

Hennesley @hennesleyvo.bsky.social · 28/01/2025

4/ Nostalgic remakes? “Why didn’t they add more content?” Brand new ideas? “This isn’t the game we wanted.” Small-scale indie gems? “It’s not long enough.” Big AAA titles? “It feels too corporate.” It’s a no-win situation for devs at this point.

130

Hennesley @hennesleyvo.bsky.social · 28/01/2025

3/ A game can meet 99% of expectations, but the conversation will revolve around the 1% it didn’t get right. And the bigger the game, the louder the complaints. It’s like we’ve forgotten how to just enjoy things for what they are.

130

Hennesley @hennesleyvo.bsky.social · 28/01/2025

2/ It feels like every game release sparks outrage over the smallest things. Whether it’s visuals, mechanics, or even platform choices, people are always nitpicking. Sometimes it’s justified, but often it just feels like gamers are looking for something to be mad about.

130

Hennesley @hennesleyvo.bsky.social · 28/01/2025

1/10 Gaming communities these days are wild. It feels like no matter what a developer does, someone is always mad. We’ve hit this weird point where even the tiniest detail becomes a massive controversy.🧵

Always act with an intention/motivation in mind. It just makes the read more powerful Consider the application of using a backhanded compliment as opposed to just calling someone 'dunb' or 'stupid' The intention and weight of what you're trying to communicate gives power to the words you say
