Iran is going after America's debt
It can't beat the US military, so it's targeting the $40 trillion America owes.

Totally agree. However the rather long read is extremely enlightening and makes up for it. Try googling the header

Fascism in 1930s Germany was enabled by powerful corporations as well as politicians. Today, tech billionaires, AI projects, and vast data centers are becoming deeply entwined with US government power. How many parallels do we need to see before asking difficult questions?

Our data is harvested, stored, and increasingly controlled by tech giants closely tied to political power. The costs are borne by privacy, democracy, and the environment. Nations must defend digital sovereignty before dependence becomes a threat to freedom. Why is everyone looking the other way?

What prevents the other side to counter that offer to $10k and throws in a barrel of free Venezuelan oil? T/C applies of course🤣

With no friends left to burn, Trump is running out of diplomatic ammunition | Rafael Behr
Everyone can see that the Iran war has been a strategic disaster for the US, while a failing president pretends he is winning, says Guardian columnist Rafael Behr

If military aggression from the US & Israel didn't reopen oil shipments, Trump appears ready to pressure trading partners to stop buying from or selling to Iran. He has called it an "economic D-Day" for Iran. Before pursuing this approach, did he discuss it with Xi Jinping? I doubt it!

I strongly recommend reading Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump by Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan. It's just been released and is a phenomenal read. Despite the seriousness of the events it covers, it's remarkably engaging and often impossible to put down.

The cost of living keeps going up, and so do the sizes of some cars. It's hard not to wonder why, especially when some drivers seem unable to park, manoeuvre, or control vehicles they probably wouldn't pass a test in today.

Right-wing extremism benefits only a small minority. Take the United States: facing the prospect of losing the midterm elections, some are pushing changes to voting rules while casting doubt on the legitimacy of future election results. That contradiction may prove to be their Achilles’ heel.

Possibly, I do have the impression that social media echo chambers contribute to misplaced priorities by concentrating on divisive issues such as racism, abortion, and nationalism, while neglecting broader societal changes needed to prepare society for the challenges of the next century.

Why do people support right-wing policies against their interests? Is life in the US Rust Belt better under Trump? Are Hungary, Czechia, Croatia and Slovakia economically flourishing? What are the benefits of racism, anti-renewables, remigration, climate denial and concentrated utilities? I wonder.

It was designed in the Netherlands, and as I understand it, the first generations of batteries are being manufactured in China until production capabilities are established within the EU.

Promising news from the renewable energy front: A Dutch firm will import CATL sodium-ion batteries to Europe, marking a commercial breakthrough. Made from abundant, low-cost sodium instead of lithium, they would lower renewable-energy storage costs and are ideal for large stationary storage systems.

Trump’s latest election meddling claim, made without evidence, is bizarre. His own policies are doing more to hurt and impoverish the American middle class, which arguably benefits China. Meanwhile, isn’t his administration openly influencing several European elections?

Allegations of antisemitism can be used to dismiss criticism of actions or policies perceived as unjust. Just as criticism of misconduct by clergy or concerns about human rights abuses are not inherently anti-Catholic or prejudiced. We need to examine why people are speaking out.

European countries do contribute billions of dollars/euros collectively each year in various forms of host‑nation support. Poland apparently paid most of the cost for American infrastructure in Poland. if those contributions are insufficient, perhaps Trump should withdraw his troops out of Europe
