My research proposal did not survive contact with my tutor. I'm frustrated that I now have to start again with limited time BUT I'm quite pleased not to be rewriting the first one over and over. So that's a win? Yeah? Let's call it a win.

Just had to pay for parking because the 2 free hours are now just 1 and my dentist is always running late. Everything is so expensive. A check up will cost me upwards of £75. Plus parking. Let's not mention petrol to get here in the complete absence of any public transport.

This is interesting. As the parent of an autistic, profoundly deaf child, I will always be fascinated by his language development. He would use vocal gestalt noises to (we think) participate in conversation & to feel a part of the group.

Credit where it's due, that was an amazing speech by Andy Burnham. My three tests were there (social care, water & renewable energy prices decoupling from fossil fuels). Bonus points for electoral reform, closer ties with the EU due to Brexit failure, housing & mental health services for kids.

It's been a good day. The local Fire Station crew came to do a fire alarm check up on our house* & arrived in their Fire Engine! Z was thrilled. He got to sit in the cab with all the lights flashing! *No fire, just a standard check for vulnerable adults.

This is one reason why we need disabled political representatives, to remind everyone in decision making positions that this discrim happens every day, all of the time. It shouldn't just be us, but we do need to be there. We also need clearer, and more rapid enforcement for accessibility.

Learned 2 lessons on Sunday: 1. I need a stick with a jar on the end to be able to collect river water without getting into the river myself. 2. It might only look knee deep but it's worth checking with a long stick BEFORE you take the plunge in your wellies.

Picked up my electric guitar this evening & really enjoyed playing. I forget how much easier she is to play than my acoustic. Tonight's practice was Zombie by the Cranberries, Hurt by NIN & Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd. Really resets my brain back to calm mode.

If 'short term relief' and 'action on the cost of living' is how you have to sell this to the public, then Jackdaw makes more sense than Rosebank. IF you have to choose one or the other. But we don't need to choose one. We should abandon them both & tighten our belts but that's a tough sell.
