With everything I've learned about Quake's level rendering from for example Matt's Ramblings on YT, I didn't think this'd be true. I figured there'd be a great many differences between Source games and OG DOS Quake. But no. Makes me wonder, tbh.

The Appearance control panel from Mac OS or rather System 7.5 or so, in a very bad state. Most controls are missing and what can be seen comes from two different tabs. None of it works, even if you can uncover the controls by blindly clicking around.

Sometimes, recently, I feel like maybe I should give the slop machine a go. Produce something better.

Then I don't.

Because my imposter syndrome is already bad enough and I can't afford its use, financially, socially, or mentally. Plus, the result wouldn't actually be better.

This is how I used to feel until my pettiness kicked in. Ai is an incredible tool when used right. But I got so annoyed by people pretending it's just useless garbage. So annoyed that I decided to go all in one day and it's been incredible. At the end of the day it's a tool like any other and it can truly do some incredible things.

Okay. I seem to have hit a wall with this 3D modeling thing. Rigging specifically. For that Pandangit dance gif, I could get away with tweaking the skirt vertices but generally these garments do NOT want to stop clipping >_< Maybe its the whole "low poly" thing. I dunno. #blender

Focus on a low poly cat person's legs and hips. Their right leg is raised. They are wearing cutoff jeans but while most of the right part follows the leg a bunch of it is clipping. For reference, the armature is overlaid at slightly less than half transparency.

There's been plenty said about how #UnrealEngine sucks, but honestly? Their documentation may look nice but I can't trust it to be correct when they mangle it like this. What else did they fuck up? I don't know, and I hope I never need to find out.
