L W Johnson @helltownbeer.bsky.social · 17/07/2026Can't imagine what Karen Grassle thinks of this series. Not just the 1970s Grassle, but the one who wrote her book a few years ago. 100
L W Johnson @helltownbeer.bsky.social · 17/07/2026Netflix Caroline Ingalls has more outfits in the first 3 episodes than the entirety of the original 204 episodes Kent McCray and Michael Landon made 50 yrs ago. 110
L W Johnson @helltownbeer.bsky.social · 17/07/2026Hard to overstate how far backward the new Little House on Netflix is. The setting and characters are more like an Instagramable, under construction Columbus, Ohio suburb than 19th century life. 100
L W Johnson @helltownbeer.bsky.social · 11/07/2026Watched a bit of the new little house. The bad: Instagramy, moody, limited dialogue and clothes look out of the box. There is no feeling of effort or work. The good: Still plenty left to watch, I guess. My wife likes the clean Hallmark look. 010
L W Johnson @helltownbeer.bsky.social · 19/06/2026World Cup Viewership Eng/Span-lang Comparison Median Last week, 12 gms ---------- 6.4m - Span (Tel, Uni, Pea) 5.8m - Eng (FOX, FS1) ---------- 131
L W Johnson @helltownbeer.bsky.social · 12/06/2026The 6.31m En-lang viewership figure for El Tri's World Cup opener is good. It does include Fox, Fox One, and Tubi. It'd be interesting to see the breakout. I bet Tubi topped Fox One. My guess is FOX carried 5.5m. Have not seen the Span-lang figure. 000

L W Johnson @helltownbeer.bsky.social · 13/04/2026Little House trailer; Visually, it's Hallmark - Instagram which is pleasant. Nice family message at the end. Combine that with the Friendly family wanting to be faithful to the books and I'm hopeful. I hope they bring the "effort/work" feel that the original series had. youtu.be/AmF0JRoWRGU?...youtu.beLittle House on the Prairie | Official Teaser | NetflixYouTube video by Netflix 000

L W Johnson @helltownbeer.bsky.social · 03/03/2026Ed's son, Trip, is behind this version. I think he wants to honor his father but also to settle a score. One of the first ppl on board was a writer/producer from The Boys and Vampire Diaries - Rebecca Sonnenshine. I expect it to be a little bit gritty, the way Ed wanted it. 000
L W Johnson @helltownbeer.bsky.social · 03/03/2026Ed Friendly and Michael Landon willed the original series into being but had a falling out early on. Friendly wanted a raw, more true to the books feel. Landon said he wasn't going to show children suffering - Friendly left embittered. Landon ended up being right. 100
