In potato chip flavor news, I’ve recently tried kettle chips in Carolina Gold BBQ and Chicago Hot Dog flavors and they were both great Turns out I can’t help buying weird flavor things out of morbid curiosity. Apparently I learned nothing from the Utz Lemonade flavor potato chips disaster.

Letterboxd review of The Sure Thing (1986): five stars

I decided to put this on after hearing the news about Rob Reiner, and found that my copy has a directors commentary track, which was both nice and quite sad. He mentions that this film was compared to Frank Capra’s It Happened One Night, which is true, and it was a formative story that solidified my love for forced proximity romances and the “only one bed” trope. It’s hard to believe John Cusack was only 17 when this was filmed. As much as I loved Lloyd Dobbler when I was a high schooler, I always had a soft spot for Walter Gibson. Who was, apparently, a reflection of Reiner himself, even down to the pizza essay
