Nice to catch up with @adrianhoward.bsky.social earlier for caffeine. @pixlz.com in your absence we took the regulation photo. You were missed (along with others). Hope to see you soon.

Photo of two super intelligent guys drinking coffee and flipping peace signs for an arms length selfie in a coffee shop.

There are some videos on my insta profile if you want to get a flavour for how it looks and sounds in the hands of a total novice 😂. Most swear by Roland and Yamaha and they are great. Alesis was good value tho and released new modules in the last year so felt ahead on tech front.

I started having lessons about 5 weeks back and bought an electric kit about 2 weeks ago. By far the best thing I’ve bought in a looong time! After lots of research I went for the Alesis Strata Core and haven’t regretted it.

Maybe some commonality in us senior partners having senior moments 😂

Walked straight past my washing machine and down my garden path with a load of dirty washing that nearly ended up being deposited in the recycling bin! Think I might be a little tired today 🤪

Had a lovely time waving my arms around and taking about how much I love the web at #ProductForThePeople A great event run by great people. (And a little reminder of the Big Give which starts next week.)

Have had some of this recently - 2 classic films that distracted me and made me warmer. Secret Life of Walter Mitty and Forrest Gump

Just finished some virtual workshop prep. 1 hour spent moving little post its and frames around in mural. 45 minutes giving the whole thing a Taylor swift theme for the lolz. I think these flu meds are messing me up 😂😂

It’s very lovely to see so many people also abandon X and turn up here…. Although I have to say over the last couple of months I’ve been here I was enjoying the slower pace and periods of quiet…maybe I’m at an age where I need an anti-social network 😂

Stuart Mackenzie @hellostu.xyz · 07/08/2024

I’ve had enough of adulthood. Can I apply to be a child again now please?!

Stuart Mackenzie @hellostu.xyz · 02/08/2024

Yes, it's much better. The app developed for volunteers to timekeep and scan and the web app used to process and manage results have also incrementally improved loads over recent time. Massive kudos to any product/tech people at #parkrunHQ #parkrun

Stuart Mackenzie @hellostu.xyz · 02/08/2024

Haha. I’m in the same boat and live about the same distance from a parkrun starting line!

210

Stuart Mackenzie @hellostu.xyz · 02/08/2024

Enjoy it! Sadly i’m having to miss out tomorrow. What’s your nearest parkrun?

Hey @pixlz.bsky.social I’m going to have to take a rain check the ‘life changes’ are giving me a pretty packed agenda for tomorrow 😬. Let’s try and sort something soon though. Maybe when the other local loons are back from vacationing?

I feel like I didn’t buy enough snacks for this election. Do I drive to the 24/7 supermarket and stock up…. Or go to bed?!

A nice little suprise to see my newly revamped website appear on a list of website inspiration on the astro.build blog this month astro.build/blog/whats-new-june-2024 . It’s a long list so I assume maybe it was just pulled together automagically rather than curated?! 🤔

Stay safe man. My train only got me as far as Southampton. Now in an Uber with a bunch of fellow train nomads to Bournemouth where I’m hoping to get a family pickup home

I’m melting and trains are proper broken again tonight. Ho hum. Here is a picture of me drawn by @simondixon.bsky.social . Pretty good day all things considered!

So frustrating to still find digital experiences that can be this painful and confusing in 2024.

010

Stuart Mackenzie @hellostu.xyz · 18/03/2024

2. Utterly bewildering and very confusing form to enroll as a ‘student’ to be able to access courses aimed at carers, provided by my local health trust. Lots of data collection that seemed irrelevant, confusing questions and highly sceptical it would meet accessible guidelines.

1. Supporting a student finance application. Application can’t be found despite the service sending me the link to it 🤷‍♂️. Computer just says NO.

Stuart Mackenzie @hellostu.xyz · 18/03/2024

Urrggh. I shouldn’t just come here to moan but have had two flippin’ lousy digital experiences this evening…
