My weather app casually showing me banner ads for a $24M jet. It’s like they know I’m eligible for that fat public sector pension.
A mobile banner ad for the Flexjet Praetor 600, a mid-size private jet that’s just within my budget.

A little on-the-nose of this moth to land on my copy of Bird by Bird as I sit at a park reading the section on paying attention to the world around us.
A beautiful moth with a slightly-torn left wing resting on my opencopy of Anne Lamott’s Bird by Bird, as I read at a park.

Guess you can just say anything at Reuters these days. That headline and this lede… woof.
New York / San Francisco, April 23 (Reuters) - Over the last quarter century, Elon Musk revived space travel, turning cosmic exploration into thriving businesses.

This is my favorite album cover because it is a photo of something that actually happened.
Yngwie Malmsteen’s Trilogy album cover, which is a picture of him defending himself against a three-headed fire-breathing dragon with a guitar. This really happened. It’s a real photo.

As Animal Kingdom’s DinoLand prepares to close forever this weekend, I want to give a shoutout to the Disney imagineer who somehow got away with shaping this sign like a dong and balls for an area called “The Boneyard.”
Sign for The Boneyard at Disney’s Animal Kingdom that looks like a giant johnson.

When I saw this headline, I thought, “Wow. Getting $1B to hand your characters over to OpenAI is not a great deal for Disney.” Then @kathyfgibson.bsky.social told me Disney are actually the ones _paying_ the billion? Bob Iger pulling some serious Business Secrets of the Pharaohs shit there.
Deadline headline: Disney Inks Blockbuster $1B Deal with OpenAI, Handing Characters Over To Sora.

Me after playing Parasite Eve in 1998:
RFK JR: I'm looking at kids as I walk through the airports today...and I see these kids that are just overburdened with mitochondrial challenges, inflammation—you can tell from their faces, movements, and lack of social connection

I’ve found that it doesn’t work until you add the Vaseline

If you haven’t unsubscribed from the Washington Post yet, now’s a great time. Their top “Week in Ideas” story for the week is three authors using AI to fact-check the president—instead of just actually fact-checking him. Devaluing their own expertise for clicks.
The Washington Post’s Week in Ideas email, where the top story features three reporters who hate themselves (and/or you) writing a story headlined “We asked 5 AI models to fact-check Trump. Here’s what we learned.)

When you’re a tech company that has to force your workers to use a technology, that’s how you know it’s good.
Business Insider headline for an Ashley Stewart story: “Microsoft pushes staff to use internal AI tools more, and may consider this in reviews. ‘Using AI is no longer optional.’”

Why prolong the inevitable?
Sting as Feyd-Rautha in Dune. Also not in much more than a codpiece.
