A short self-guided tour of the Icelandic Westfjords. Not the most species-rich country, but Iceland makes up for it in the sheer numbers of birds present. Great to see our winter visitors and passage migrants on their breeding grounds.

Not the best way to get a garden tick. A Tawny Owl, slightly stunned after flying into a window (despite UV reflectors). Thankfully, just after I took this picture, it came round and flew off, apparently unharmed🤞. #cambirds

A leucistic Starling (aka "White Tail") has been visiting our garden for over a year now - first seen in December 2023. Currently a daily visitor for at least the last month.
