Big news from Labour Conference: the PM has announced the government's plan to scrap first past the post. Seats that match votes would change British politics for good, but only if it happens. I've added my name. Join me? action.electoral-reform.org.uk/page/201578/...

The PM used his big speech to promise to fix Westminster's broken voting system.
We've heard promises before. I've signed to make sure this one is kept. It takes 30 seconds

On 20 June National Rejoin March will celebrate European unity. It’s 10 years since the UK referendum to leave the EU. It’s time to consider the harm this did. I will march from Trafalgar Square at 2pm with my doggies. They want to #RejoinEU. Join us at Temple Station at 12pm to do the whole walk!

Yup. Why focus on just preventing children from harmful online content. What about all the “hard of thinking” adults who just believe everything Tommy Robinson or Nigel Farage post on X and happily go on the streets to riot and burn when instructed. This even breaks Prevent rules!

@channel4news.bsky.social you’ve just talked to 3 school girls about the use of social media. They were intelligent young women. What about all the adults who are not so capable of differentiating what is true and what is false on SM? Who is going to protect the hard of thinking?

This will provide some protection for children. But what about the “hard of thinking” the adults that believe everything they hear on X or GB News. The grown men responding to Tommy Robinson call to riot. This is a start but it’s not only children that need protection. Many adults need help too.

Exactly right, but happening far too late. Was obvious a year ago that this was the direction of travel (even if the exact route was unclear). EU, UK, Canada should have drawn red lines far earlier. Trump saw our delay as weakness, not friendship. More of the same will just embolden him.

And expect that number to shrink further. No matter how much the government, major parties, or tabloid press push “Brexit benefits…” People know Brexit doesn’t. Brexit leaves the UK in a structurally weaker position, bleeding money, time, efficiency and opportunity daily.
Sunday Times cover saying new poll shows only 29% would vote for Brexit now.
