Bit of faffing with Obsidian and Syncthing this evening. Bought a pair of new hard drives (at an eye-watering cost increase on the originals) for the NAS home set-up so we can move photos and notes, having first done music.

The DWP are asking for people to contribute evidence for a forthcoming review of Carers Allowance and how it operates. Admittedly this is niche, but please spread the word so it reaches the right people. www.gov.uk/government/c...

Ironically, I didn't take very good photos but this weekend's 'Leeds Film Photo' visit to the @mediamuseum.bsky.social with archive tour was ace. Love seeing the words 'Object Store' and then being allowed to nosey around for a bit!

Harm assessment in Data Protection Impact Assessments is difficult, often badly done, and overdue for a rethink. Independent expert Rowenna Fielding has done exactly that, and built a practical toolkit you can use straight away. Find out more at our free webinar.https://buff.ly/s05tgV1

As we emerge from another heatwave I wanted to share the latest house projects we've been fortunate to complete this year... We recently replaced our ailing gas boiler with an air source heat pump and now have 8 solar panels on the roof and a battery neatly tacked onto the back of the house (1/5)

Meal planning & grocery shopping last week evidently didn't account for the weather because I've got it down that I'm making lasagne tonight, which is laughably unwise. It's various salads and ice lollies all week now.

Now with the current job description! It's a permanent role, and no, the salary isn't amazing but the people are, and you can really make a difference to how people access digital collections at the British Library

Perhaps niche question, but... Has anyone got the new First Bus app working on Graphene OS? Been using this phone for nearly two years and this is one of only a very few things I've not managed to get working, and only since the app update.

While I'm posting about climate matters, we went to see this film a couple of weeks ago and would recommend checking it out and sharing with others - the more people see this the better chance we have of making necessary changes. Find a screening near you: www.nebriefing.org/screening-map
