What’s your favorite Bible verse? (Wrong answers only)

Poster for "Masque of the Red Death" 1964 Roger Corman film, featuring a quote that reads, "If a god of love and life ever did exist... he is long since dead. Someone... something rules in his place" and a stylized red face of its protagonist, Prince Prospero, as portrayed by the magnificent and inimitable Vincent Price.

My favorite MTG card art is @kortizart.bsky.social depiction of my favorite MTG character, my beloved Liliana, in her "Defiant Necromancer" version in ORI. I feel Karla perfectly captured Lili's personality and powerful aura here 😍🖤

Karla Ortiz's art for the Magic The Gathering card "Liliana, Defiant Necromancer". The art depicts a young necromancer standing on a mound of earth, surrounded by grasping, undead figures, with a moonlit, hazy cityscape in the background.

My favorite hero is Lúthien Tinúviel from Tolkien's Elder Days stories! She's a badass elf/"angel" lady

Meine Sehnen by Julia Metzger. The art depicts on the right Lúthien Tinúviel in a long dark turquoise dress with her wild long hair and magical cloak floating behind her, reaching out with her left hand towards a shadow that represents Beren. To wit: Lord Dunsany's "Charon", the best 500-word heart-tearing, mind-blowing flash fiction I've ever read sacred-texts.com/neu/dun/fotd...

CHARON

Charon leaned forward and rowed. All things were one with his weariness.

It was not with him a matter of years or of centuries, but of wide floods of time, and an old heaviness and a pain in the arms that had become for him part of the scheme that the gods had made and was of a piece with Eternity.

If the gods had even sent him a contrary wind it would have divided all time in his memory into two equal slabs.

So grey were all things always where he was that if any radiance lingered a moment among the dead, on the face of such a queen perhaps as Cleopatra, his eyes could not have perceived it.

It was strange that the dead nowadays were coming in such numbers. They were coming in thousands where they used to come in fifties. It was neither Charon's duty nor his wont to ponder in his grey soul why these things might be. Charon leaned forward and rowed.

Then no one came for a while. It was not usual for the gods to send no one down from Earth for such a space. But the gods knew best.

Then one man came alone. And the little shade sat shivering on a lonely bench and the great boat pushed off. Only one passenger: the gods knew best. And great and weary Charon rowed on and on beside the little, silent, shivering ghost.

And the sound of the river was like a mighty sigh that Grief in the beginning had sighed among her sisters, and that could not die like the echoes of human sorrow failing on earthly hills, but was as old as time and the pain in Charon's arms.

Then the boat from the slow, grey river loomed up to the coast of Dis and the little, silent shade still shivering stepped ashore, and Charon turned the boat to go wearily back to the world. Then the little shadow spoke, that had been a man.

"I am the last," he said.

No one had ever made Charon smile before, no one before had ever made him weep.

Just as an FYI: DuckDuckGo now allows you to turn off ALL AI bs and it hides AI-generated images. So, I think that this makes it by far the superior alternative to Google duckduckgo.com

With alt text! And yeah: I totally agree ☺️🖤

"you don't owe anyone anything" You are a tar pit. Speak for yourself. I personally owe the cafe employees my dishes put away and my friends a listening ear and small scared insects a cup and a gentle trip outside. Hyperindividualism is a rancid infection born of capitalism and willfully misinterpreted therapyspeak and I will defy it by continuing to be kind regardless of whether or not it benefits me personally

My humble opinion is that you could rock a look like this

Deedlit, a young elf mage from Record of Lodoss War. Anime style, she has ridiculously long, sharp ears, long blonde hair, big blue shoulder pads and a thin-ass rapier sword. She's wearing a short green dress and long brown boots under everything, and a red cape

Now dear Théodred lies in darkness,
most loyal of fighters.
The sound of the harp shall not wake the warrior;
nor shall the man hold a golden wine-cup,
nor good hawk swing through the hall,
nor the swift horse stamp in the courtyard.
An evil death has set forth the noble warrior
A song shall sing the sorrowing minstrels of Meduseld
That noble cousin, who always held me dear
Now is held in darkness, enclosed.

This one's easy!. I could be posting all day! 😂 This one is the best goth metal record of all time, IMNSHO. a perfect album from the 90s that isn't grunge

The cover art for Theatre of Tragedy's perfect record "Velvet Darkness They Fear". It depicts a woman lying on a purple satin bed, her chest half exposed, and her head covered by her long black hair, with a couple of red roses to the left. The lettering is handwriting-like and flowery, in gold letters.

5. Liliana Vess. My fav #mtg character, her story is such a tragedy! 🥺 She's my goth queen of the (un)dead, & the only long fanfic I've ever written was about the redemption arc she deserved post-WotS. Her biting charm & sarcasm melts me, & her outfits murder me. I wanna be her & wanna be WITH her 😍

Liliana Vess, as depicted in the card Macabre Waltz. She's dancing with a vals with zombie she reanimated. She has long black hair combed back and held in place by a golden hairpiece. She's wearing a purple dress with golden trimmings and long-sleeved gloves.

4. Yennefer of Vengerberg. The main reason I've read the Witcher books and "played" (watched people playing) the games. She's so cool and interesting—and most definitely trans, IMNSHO. Her tender side is her best side (esp. as "mom"), but I love all she is, warts & all. I'd do anything for her 🥺🖤

Yennefer of Vengerberg, as depicted in The Witcher 3 game. She has long, wavy black hair, violet eyes, and she's dressed mostly in black, with some white accents here & there.

3. Raistlin Majere. I'm full of problematic faves 😛. Raistlin's an asshole, but he is MY asshole. He's a narcissistic megalomaniac, but he still manages to be magnetically attractive, especially because he's super smart. He's just a misunderstood goth boy, and I could definitely fix him 😂

Raistlin Majere (in his black-robed version) as depicted by Greenedera. He looks like a withered young man with golden skin, gray hair, eyes with pupils like hourglasses, and a black robe with golden trimmings. He's leaning on wooden staff.

2. Éowyn. LotR is my fav book EVER &, for the past decade, Éowyn has remained my fav character. She's so brave & inspiring & poetic & tragic. Her journey & victory inspire me more than anything else. Ofc I read her as trans, and I heavily identify w/her. When I came out, I wrote an essay about it 🖤

Éowyn as depicted in the Bakshi film. She's an animated, long-haired blonde female warrior, a sword on her right hand and a shield on her right, wearing blue clothes and a green cloak. She looks fiercely determined.

1. Elric of Melniboné. Oh, my sweet prince of doom! I don't know if I have enough space here to properly express how much I love him. The 1st time I saw him (pic below) it was love at 1st sight. I'd happily die impaled on his... sword, Stormbringer. Truly my fictional OTL.

A pale, elfin-like albino "man" dressed in full plate black armor from neck to toe, with a massive broadsword at the hip. His long white is flowing as he's on deck looking towards the horizon with perplexed expression. Everything has an extremely pale purple blue tint to it.
