To the woman trying too hard

Darling, you can pause now.

Even the tide isn't so tightly wound.

You have been hauling your heart through impossible waters, naming the ache in your body as progress.

But there is a moment when the air quietly loosens and you remember that you weren't meant to push this.

Only to feel it.

To walk gently with intention.

To gather all that is still good.

To breathe the open air.

To move fluidly with your own (imperfect) story.

You can let all of the forcing fall like salt back into the knowing sea.

Nothing ever leaves you that was supposed to remain.

I had two visitors this Samhain, my maternal Gma and paternal Gpa. They both wanted to hear all the family news! My Grandma visited while I had my morning coffee since she was a coffee addict in life. I love that, as a witch, I can still talk to those who are no longer among the living. #witchsky

Messages from Nature! On my way to work, just outside my apartment, I spotted a flock of black vultures (and no carrion) on a grassy hill. Black vultures signify the ending of cycles, cleansing and rebirth. A flock tells me that I'll need community as I go through the next cycle. #witchsky

I took a trip to Luray Caverns in the Shenandoah Valley & this formation"Pluto's Ghost" is my favorite. I have been to several caverns (including this one) & I have never felt the slightest bit uncomfortable. Just a sense of deep peace and safety. How do you feel underground? #witchsky

I picked this up today finally and if you're pagan, I CANNOT recommend it enough if you are able to read about the persecution of suspected witches in Puritan society. It's fictional and it grabs you from Chapter 1 and doesn't let go! I read the entire book in one sitting! #witchsky

I've been feeling drained/chaotic lately and struggling to move through my days. Yesterday I did a reading about how to regain my equilibrium. This guy basically screamed STRUCTURE in my "ear"! I struggle with the traditionally masculine aspect but sometimes I guess I need them! #witchsky

I reorganized my balcony today and moved my crow feeding station to a smaller, lower table and put a large bushy plant nearby. I was worried the crows might have trouble finding it but they showed up immediately and cleaned me out! #witchsky #corvids
