There's a difference between empathy and emotional absorption. You can understand that someone is hurting without hurting in exactly the same way. Keeping a little space can help you stay present, listen clearly and actually be useful. Boundaries aren't the opposite of compassion. 💜

Holding space for someone doesn't mean carrying their problems for them. You can care deeply. You can listen. You can be present. And you can still remember that their life, their choices and their journey belong to them. 💜 That distinction matters. 🌙

One of the things I value most in personal growth is becoming a little less afraid of your own uncertainty. You don't have to know exactly where you're going. You don't even have to know what the next step is. Sometimes “I'm figuring it out” is a perfectly good place to be. 💫

Sometimes helping someone isn't about finding the right words. Sometimes it's about making enough space for them to find their own words. There's a difference between guiding someone towards an answer and handing them one. The first can be empowering. The second can create dependence. 🌙

“Just holding space for someone” sounds simple. It isn't always. It means listening without immediately trying to fix things, staying present when someone is struggling, and allowing them to have their own experience without taking it on as your own. That takes energy. 💜

A Tarot card can have a traditional meaning without having only one possible conversation. The question, the person, the position and the cards around it all matter. That's why learning Tarot isn't simply about memorising 78 definitions. It's about seeing what's happening in the whole picture. 🌙

Personal growth isn't always dramatic. Sometimes it's noticing an old pattern a little sooner. Sometimes it's choosing differently. Sometimes it's simply realising that something which once felt impossible no longer does. Small changes still count. 💫

Mabon or Ostara, depending on where you are in the world, marks a turning of the seasonal wheel. These points of transition give us an opportunity to pause and notice where we are. Not because we need to reinvent ourselves. Sometimes simply noticing is enough. 🌙

Not every spiritual question needs an immediate spiritual answer. Sometimes you can sit with uncertainty for a while. You can be curious without deciding. You can wonder without believing. And you can change your mind later. That's quite a useful kind of freedom. ✨

Kindness doesn't need an audience. Neither does compassion, generosity or doing the right thing. Sometimes the most meaningful things we do are the things nobody ever hears about. 💫

A good boundary doesn't necessarily mean "no". Sometimes it means: "Yes, but not like that." Or: "Yes, but not right now." Or simply: "That's not something I can offer." There's rather a lot of space between being endlessly available and being completely closed off. 🌙

🎬 New video + blog! ✨ Tarot Isn't a Multiple Choice Test ✨ Traditional card meanings are useful. They're where we begin. But Tarot isn't a multiple-choice test. Sometimes the most interesting meaning isn't in a single card. It's between the cards. 🌙 waywardwitchery.com/tarot-multip...

Tarot Isn’t a Multiple Choice Test: Looking Beyond Card Meanings - Wayward Witchery
Explore why Tarot isn't a multiple choice test, and how looking beyond fixed card meanings can reveal deeper insight through symbolism, context and connection.

One of the things I've become increasingly fond of is the phrase: "I don't know." Not as a failure to have an answer, but as an honest acknowledgement that sometimes the answer hasn't arrived yet. That's allowed. 💜

Perhaps the most useful question isn't always: "What does this mean?" Sometimes it's: "What else could this mean?" Not because every interpretation is equally valid, but because looking for possibilities before settling on an answer can reveal things we might otherwise have missed. 🌙

Wayward Witchery @waywardwitchery.com · 14/09/2026
One of the things I love about Tarot is that the cards don't have to tell you something you didn't already know. Sometimes they simply arrange familiar pieces of a puzzle in a way that lets you finally see the picture. And often that's enough to change what you do next. 💫

Wayward Witchery @waywardwitchery.com · 13/09/2026
You can take something seriously without taking every interpretation literally. You can find meaning in a symbol without insisting it has only one meaning. You can find value in a spiritual practice without turning it into a belief system. There's rather a lot of room in the middle. 🌙

A symbol can catch your attention without having a single, universal message attached to it. Sometimes what matters is not simply what the symbol means, but why you noticed it, what surrounds it, and what else is happening in the conversation. That's where things can get interesting. 💜

Sometimes two apparently contradictory things can both contain useful information. "Something needs to change" and "You're doing better than you think" aren't necessarily opposites. People are complicated. So are situations. Fortunately, we don't have to reduce either to a single sentence. 💫

Tarot doesn't become less interesting when you stop expecting every card to give you a definite answer. In fact, sometimes the most useful reading is the one that leaves you with a better question than the one you started with. 🌙

A question doesn't have to lead immediately to an answer. Sometimes a good question simply gives you somewhere interesting to stand while you look at things from a different angle. 🔎💫

The best guidance doesn't make you dependent on having someone else beside you. It gives you a little more confidence to keep walking when you're on your own. 🕯️

You don't have to turn every discovery into a belief. You can simply let it be interesting. Read it. Think about it. Ask questions. Keep exploring. Not everything needs to become a doctrine. ✨

Sometimes the mind gives us useful information. Sometimes it gives us a song we haven't heard in twenty years at 3am. 🙃 Learning to notice the difference is an underrated skill.

"Spiritual growth" doesn't have to mean becoming serene, enlightened and mysteriously good at remembering where you put your keys. We're still human. Fortunately, being human gives us plenty to explore. 💜

There's something wonderfully grounding about doing something that has absolutely nothing to do with solving a problem. A walk. A garden. A cup of tea. Watching the clouds. Not every useful moment needs an agenda. ✨

Growth doesn't always look like becoming more certain. Sometimes it looks like becoming more comfortable with uncertainty while learning how to navigate it. 🕯️

A spiritual practice doesn't have to look impressive to be meaningful. Sometimes it's a ritual. Sometimes it's a moment of stillness. Sometimes it's simply noticing that you're breathing a little more easily than you were five minutes ago. 💫

Wayward Witchery @waywardwitchery.com · 01/09/2026
There are many ways to explore a spiritual question. Sometimes it's Tarot. Sometimes it's meditation. Sometimes it's reading, walking, thinking, talking to someone... And occasionally it's sitting quietly with a cup of tea until your brain finally agrees to participate. 💫

The brain is a remarkably useful tool. 🧠 It's also prone to assumptions, shortcuts, catastrophising and occasionally deciding that 3am is the ideal time to review every embarrassing thing we've done since 1997. 🙃 Use with curiosity. ✨

Wayward Witchery @waywardwitchery.com · 28/08/2026
Not everything that helps us needs to be profound. Sometimes it's rest. Sometimes it's a conversation. Sometimes it's tea and a cat. And sometimes it's simply having someone remind us that we're not carrying everything alone. 💜

We don't always need a completely different life. Sometimes we need a little more room to see the life we already have clearly. ✨

Wayward Witchery @waywardwitchery.com · 26/08/2026
You don't have to turn every thought into a conclusion. Some ideas are worth sitting with for a while. 🕯️ Curiosity doesn't always need an immediate destination.

We don't always know what someone else is carrying. A little patience costs very little. For someone having a difficult day, it can mean rather a lot. 💜

You are not a problem that needs solving. You're a person trying to make sense of a complicated world. Sometimes a little space to think can make all the difference. 💫

Wayward Witchery @waywardwitchery.com · 23/08/2026
You don't have to abandon an idea simply because you've examined it. Sometimes questioning our assumptions makes us appreciate them more. Sometimes it changes our minds. Either outcome is useful. 💫

A good conversation doesn't always give you something to take home. Sometimes it gives you something to think about. That can be considerably more valuable. 💫

Wayward Witchery @waywardwitchery.com · 21/08/2026
There isn't a single way to learn. Read. Ask questions. Experiment. Listen to other perspectives. Change your mind. The path doesn't have to be straight to be useful. 💫
010
Wayward Witchery @waywardwitchery.com · 20/08/2026
Sometimes understanding arrives sideways. 🙃 A conversation leads to a question... The question leads somewhere unexpected... And suddenly the thing that seemed confusing looks rather different. That's the fun of exploring. 💜💫
052
Wayward Witchery @waywardwitchery.com · 19/08/2026
A belief doesn't become more true simply because we're very attached to it. It's healthy to give our assumptions the occasional little poke and see whether they're still holding up. 🔎
092
Wayward Witchery @waywardwitchery.com · 18/08/2026
You don't need to arrive with the right question. You don't even need to know what the question is yet. Curiosity is a perfectly good place to begin. 💜

Good questions don't always make life simpler. They can, however, help us understand what we're actually dealing with. And understanding is a rather useful place to begin. ✨

There isn't one perfect tool for every situation. That's why exploration can involve Tarot, pendulums, meditation, crystals, conversation – or the wonderfully underrated tool called the brain. ✨

A fresh perspective doesn't necessarily change the situation. Sometimes it changes the way you understand the situation. And that can be enough to make the next step visible. 💫

"Why?" is useful. But so are: ✨"What if?" ✨"What else?" ✨"According to whom?" ✨"And how do I know?" Questions are wonderfully good at disturbing assumptions. 💫
