A preview for my piece in Off the Rails! A fairy tale of fated mates and dragons🩵💛🩵💛 #sk8monsterzine

A preview excerpt of a fic written for the sk8 monster zine: Langa shimmies out of his shirt, eager to press their chests together, and f
inds the soft skin scattered with smooth scales. Langa lifts away the covers, plenty warm from the radiating heat of his lover. Reki's eyes glint gold in the low light. Slender dark horns have sprouted up from his brow and back from his temples. His hot breath puffs between pearly, needle-sharp teeth. Amber scales trail down the center of his chest, shimmering and shifting paler the lower they go.
Reki shifts anxiously under Langa's gaze. He brings a hand to cover his fanged mouth, revealing instead his fingers tipped in dark claws.
The except appears on a card over a maroon to dark purple gradient with infinity logos including a heart shaped tail and tentacle. For the project 'off the rails: sk8 lovers monster zine'.

Howl absolutely sparked my imagination and was one of my first significant crushes on a fictional character periodl. His transformation disturbed and disgusted me, scared me and thrilled me.

you ever go so hard on an environmental description in your self-indulgent fic that you think, damn, i need to write something publishable? From the not quite finished second chapter of 'gap in the heart' @beproud-ficshare.bsky.social #ficsnips read chapter one: archiveofourown.org/works/633810...

white text on a beige background with two daisies and line black and white line details in the corner. Muted text reads "#FicSnips"
Main text: The night sky helps clear his head. Crisp clear stars cut by the dark shadows of mountains; air sharp enough to scald the inside of his nose with the scent of fir trees; a quiet domed space falling around, heavy enough to muffle the noise from the party below. Even the light from nearby windows and the twinkling dorm towers are muted by the massive black sky.

Langa scuffs the half-frozen grass with his toe. The climate here is a bit different from home, greener and wetter and wilder. It's barely March and the plants are striving to grow rather than rest another month under snow.

@beproud-ficshare.bsky.social A little snip from my first renga fic, the first renga kiss. I started writing this story during the first Sk8tember fan event. you can read the whole work here archiveofourown.org/works/336574... #ficsnips

White text over a beige background with simple outline details and two daisies. #FicSnips is tagged in the top right. Text reads: The slight chill in the air signals summer’s approaching end. Reki shivers lightly, leaning against Langa as they sit side by side. The first screeches and booms of the fireworks erupt, splashing the night sky with color and Langa takes the opportunity to admire Reki’s face illuminated by the ecstatic flashing lights.

He drags his attention away, settling for a soft hold on Reki’s hand, letting the explosions in the sky wash over him. It’s a beautiful distraction, the thundering booms filling his chest as sparkles crackle in the air. The next time Langa looks to the side he’s met with amber eyes, reflecting the starry blossoms above.

“Langa,” Reki breathes. His eyes are glassy, filled with artificial stars, and his lips are parted like he has more to say but no words to speak.

He’s perfect.

This is perfect.

There will be no better moment.

Langa cups his hand around Reki’s cheek and leans in for a kiss."

digital illustration by heirophantomthief of Reki and Langa from Sk8 the infinity. Reki is a merperson with a tail like a lionfish, orage and striped with fluttery fins. He holds an unconscious Langa in his arms, pale and wearing floaty periwinkle swim shorts. Langa holds a loop of cord in one hand threaded with a slightly glowing scale that matches Reki's coloring. pixel art keychains of Miya, Reki, and Langa from Sk8 the infinity. Miya holds a sword and shield as the link/hero character. Reki is a yellow slime and Langa is a troll with pointed ears and a wooden club. The text describes characters in an in-universe manga call 'Slime Hero':
Hiro is a normal kid until he's isekai'd into another realm. He'll do whatever it takes to become a great hero.
Slime-kun is just a little guy! He's the first creature Hiro encounters in the realm and he talks himself into being Hiro's guide and companion rather than his first kill.
Yeti is a nuisance stealing food from humans, but he unlocks the ability to transform into a powerful frost giant with the help of his friends Hiro and Slime.

pixel art keychains of Cherry, Joe, Shadow, Adam and Snake. Cherry is dressed as a ninja. Joe is a minotaur with curved horns and the legs and tail of a bull. Shadow is a green ogre sticking out his tongue. Adam also has curved horns and poses dramatically. Tadashi has a single horn like a unicorn and his lower body is that of a grey snake. The text describes characters in an in-universe manga call 'Slime Hero':
Joe the minotaur trains Hiro to fight and Cherry Blossom forges arcane weapons for him. The ogre Shadow tricks Hiro into giving up his quest and banishes Slime from Fortress City, but eventually they work together. Adam the Demon King rules Eden with the aide of his Nagi assisstant, Snake.

Title: there is no if, just this
Author: heirophantomthief
Summary:
Langa believes he and Reki will be together forever, but the return of Reki's childhood friend disrupts the relationship he was certain would lead to romance. He certainly wasn't expecting he'd end up as Reki's fake boyfriend or for their promise of infinity to fade when he returns to Canada

"Now Langa’s last scrap of hope that Reki might like him has withered and died. Until this moment he clung to the idea that Reki cluelessly thought he was straight and would eventually realize his romantic love for Langa—but he likes guys! He already knew he likes guys! He just never told Langa he was gay or bi or had a boyfriend.

Hearing Reki laugh and brush him off once again, Langa realizes that maybe their paths aren’t so clear. Maybe for Reki, they’ll run in parallel forever. Maybe he never really had a chance."

Summary:
I woke up in a fantasy world and courted a prince (but I'm a boy)? I got
reincarnated as an Omega for my Alpha mate? I was transported to another
world to meet my true love and he got me pregnant?
Reki really didn't think this through.
Sure, there's not really any way he could have prepared himself for
waking up in a strange world, surrounded by strange people and
thrust into an unfolding narrative of courtly intrigue and royal
succession. Those weren't really the kind of stories he was into
back home.
But he did his best. He got along with people and followed his guts
and his heart into the arms of the bastard prince of a foreign
island.
He doesn't know what caused this shift in his reality in the first
place, so can he really be blamed for not thinking through the
consequences?

author: heirophantomthief
Summary:
Reki wakes up in a strange world, thrust into a fantasy of noble houses tittering over the upcoming Masquerade. He's an omega now...will he attend the ball and find his fated mate?

an excerpt from a digital comic. Title text: A Story for Nina by Heirophantomthief. Descriptive text: Two brother kings die one after the other, leaving the Island in tumult with Shindo poised to seize power.
Three iterations of a stone throne surrounded by a group of characters. The throne is a sandy pink with two peaks at the top like pointed ears and a crossed tulip and rose on the seat back. In the first image, a bearded man wearing a fur collar and horned crown sits on the throne with a younger man to his left and a woman with long reddish hair on his right. In the next, the younger man, now bearded, sits on the throne ill at ease. To his left, a woman is guiding a pale-haired child away. The reddish haired woman remains on the right, now wearing a dark suit with. In the final scene, the throne is empty except for the fur collar and horned crown. The woman remains on the right and a dark haired man stands to the left with a similar suit. The pale-haired child is older and seated at a small horned, throne to the right of the stone throne. A man with vibrant blue hair and a red suit, leans in at his right.

title: you might want to play it safe, but I don't want that
author: heirophantomthief
Summary:
Omega Reki realizes spending his heat with a partner (or two) is a lot more fun than holing up alone, and with Langa busy studying for college and training as a pro, they haven't been spending a lot of time together.

He doesn’t miss his nest and the comforting scents of his pack. Is everything he’s learned about heats a lie? Apparently all he needs is to be fucked. His head feels fairly clear, not clouded with desperate misery. But the dizzy arousal flooding his body is telling him his heat has truly arrived. His insides aren’t cramping, just empty and waiting to be filled.

This is a story about Reki's sexual awakening including many different relationships, dynamics, and experiences. He'll find his way back to Langa by the end, though!

Reki and Langa if they were UA students. Langa is hardcore channeling Todoroki Shouto with an ice quirk and Reki has a welding quirk and some Hatzume Mei flair.

A cartoon featuring Langa and Reki in the style of My Hero Academia students. Langa represents the hero class with an ice quirk forming a spiked pauldron over his right shoulder and upper arm. His forearm is mysteriously scarred and he wears an insulated zipped jacket and gloves. He looks towards Reki with a somewhat pained expression. Reki represents the support class with a welding quirk. He wears open yellow coveralls with a spannergon detail around the shoulders and a ribbed tanktop underneath. His expression is bright and he poses with on hand under his chin. He's wearing goggles and fingerless gloves. Colorful text describes their names, classes, and quirks. art by heirophantomthief

A three panel comic for the renga week 2022 prompt 'magic/soulmates' by heirophantomthief. In the first panel, a young langa stands on the seashore holding a small, glowing object. In the water nearby, a young mer-reki waves to him, his fins look like the striped fronds of a lionfish. The second panel is a close up of a pale hand holding a glowing scale, fashioned into a pendant. The final panel shows an older Langa seated on a rocky outcrop. He looks out over the ocean where tiny fins emerge in the distance.

Title: we don't stop running wild
Author: heirophantomthief
Summary:
Written for Reki Appreciation Week Day 5:
Dreams/Double dates/Exhibitionism

Reki and Langa still make it back to Crazy Rock sometimes, even though they're in college now. When a girl asks Reki out, Langa ends up coming along with another guy for a double date. Cue jealousy, messy feelings realization, and sloppy making out/making it up to each other.

What if the hands in his hair were smaller, rough calluses catching at fine hairs. What if the waist fit between his palms were more slender, still firmly muscled but narrow and flexible. What if his partner were a bit shorter? The distance between them since Langa’s last growth spurt made Reki the perfect size to tuck his head into Langa’s neck.

Langa feels the broad back as he slides his hands up under Yoshi’s sweatshirt and wonders what it would feel like to trail his fingertips over the scars from Reki’s brutal race with Adam years ago.

Author: heirophantomthief
Summary:Felix cannot for the life of him understand why Sylvain wants to dance in the White Heron Cup, but he can't say no to helping him out...

Felix isn’t so far gone that he can’t handle seeing Sylvain nude. He’s not Sylvain for Sothis’ sake. It is a little different though, having spent so much of the last few weeks watching what Sylvain’s body can do. The muscles that seemed so frustratingly bulky come in handy tossing his blade high in the air and they make his sweeping gestures look that much more impressive. The abdominals rippling under the softness of his belly torque when he twists in midair to deliver a fluttering kick. Those fucking cavalrymen’s thighs launch him into a dramatic leap and those broad shoulders carry his weight when he rolls into his finishing pose—half knelt with his sword struck up towards the heavens.

Reki's werewolf costume is surprisingly revealing, but is the time right for Langa to reaveal a spooky secret? First they'll have to race. Block quote excerpt: Now that they are ready to skate, Langa can feel his senses awaken. Reki thrives in teh suffocating throng of S but Langa feels muffled by it, the over-stimulation shutting down all but his most basic functions. The stoplight overhead blinks red and the siren sounds to clear the track. Langa looks over to Reki, eying him with a coy, cocksure grin. His wolf's ears twitch and bob as he holds out his board, ready to start. He's such an impressive craftsman. The light flashes green and they thrown down their boards...
