From Athens to Poznań an easy task. But the transition from the EAA annual meeting to the World Congress of the International Union of Prehistoric and Protohistoric Sciences (UISPP) is a major change. Fortunately, my colleagues at both conferences enjoy discussing metals in prehistory. 🏺

The summer break is over, and this means that the exciting #archaeology projects are starting up again. Since yesterday, I am in Lund at Arkeologerna, examining the #bronzeage jewellery from Dalköpinge.🏺🧪
You see a camera in front of a small bronze find, a spiral plate fibula. On the display you see the magnification of the bronze piece.

Enjoying life with a glas of wine and salmon on the #neolithic site of Saint-Martin-de-Corléans, Aosta. Invited by the #MegaMuseo we had a very privilged visit with the #ISA2026Torino.
Heide is sitting on the wooden floor that is erected over the megalith area. The 6000 year old surface is below and next to me and I am enjoying a glas of wine.

#FindsFriday a late #Bronzeage #sword from Kostryzyn with a very interesting crown-like ribbon around the hilt. I know this crown shaped pattern from early #ironage neckrings in Denmagk, but this sword is much earlier.

I often find myself in situations where I'm really glad I had such a long and varied #education. Some of the habits from my apprenticeship as #goldsmith still are part of my movements. I don't think about holding my little finger as a stabiliser for the drill; I just do it. #archaeology #bronzeage
Heide has a small drill in her hand. She is going to drill a whole in a bronze dagger. The dagger is from hhe Bronze Age. Interesting is the way Heide holds the drill. Her little finger is used as a support to keep the hand stady.
