$An abstract collection of squares in 3d overlapping one another and rotated at 90 degrees to form a sort of ghostly fractal 3d grid of boxes. DoF effects are applied to cause most of the squares to be variously out of focus.$

Because I remembered it's existence: Nearly 10 years ago, Innuendo Studios did a great series about the alt-right playbook. It hasn't lost it's relevance, to the contrary. www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLJA_… (a 'real' transcript is linked in the description […]

"Towards thee I roll, thou all-destroying but unconquering whale; to the last I grapple with thee; from hell's heart I stab at thee; for hate's sake I spit my last breath at thee." -- Me, muttering to myself while mailing my absentee ballot, lowkey concerned that the outcome of this election […]

Saw this posted elsewhere. The graph shows the number of arrests under terrorism legislation since 2002. Note the huge spike (a 1,500% increase) which is basically all down to peaceful #PalestineAction protestors. What a grotesque waste of police time and public resources.

A concept I became aware of a few years ago is Justice Sensitivity (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Justice_sensi…) which I think is a name for a thing I have felt innately for a long time and something I've been thinking about a lot recently. 1/?

My mom just reminded me that one time as a little kid, I woke my parents up in the middle of the night cause I'd had a terrible nightmare. All they could get out of me in the way of an explanation was the phrase, "Cowboys at the Marina". Chilling stuff.

Do any American who live abroad have ideas / advice on what we can do to support our friends and family at home with what's going on? Any groups to join? I'm losing my mind over here. #uspol #usexpat

Some important discussion in the comments but largely I think this is a good summary of what I've been thinking / feeling / noticing since trying to find a new digital home here. It's been profound to realize how so much great stuff falls out of federation, something that which initially […]

Thinking about finally pulling the plug on gmail and moving to something else. I know proton has been in the crossfire lately due to some shit the ceo said -- does anyone have any recommendations for good secure e-mail services? (very) happy to pay.

Upgrading my VPS's Debian install solely in order to get to a later version of pandoc that'll render a link to a mastodon URL in my web-based resume generation setup feels kinda bad. But it is surprisingly easy to upgrade Debian systems and the docs are wonderful!

JD Vance didn't expect this man, and hundreds of others, to show up in the mountains of Sugarbush Vermont to troll and ruin his ski tip.

A protester at a snowy ski resort holds a sign reading, "VANCE IS A TRAITOR GO SKI IN RUSSIA." The individual is dressed in winter gear, including gloves and sunglasses, obscuring most of their face. Behind them, skiers and snowboarders are preparing to hit the slopes, with a ski lift station visible in the background.

A protester holds a sign near a ski resort seating area that reads, "IF YOU'RE GOING TO TRY TO F*** THE COUNTRY WE'RE GOING TO MAKE IT VERY UNCOMFORTABLE FOR YOU." The sign is held aloft with a wooden stick, and people are seated at outdoor tables, seemingly engaged in conversation. Patches of snow are visible on the ground, indicating a winter setting.

A sign reading "VANCE SKIS IN JEANS" is held high at a protest near a gas station with snowy rooftops. A group of protesters is gathered, some holding flags, in what appears to be a demonstration targeting JD Vance in a wintery town setting.

Does anyone know how easy / cheap it is to create #bots on explicitly right wing social networks? I think it's a fortune to use twitter's APIs now; has anyone -- god this is insane to say -- poked around on gab or parler or truth social or whatever?

Still wondering if it's possible in #blender to output curves (and not mesh) from a #geometrynodes setup so I can bake them and export as #svg to send to my #penplotter. Appreciate a boost!

Democrats are out with messaging that the Republicans didn’t play fair, which, first of all, grow the fuck up, and, second of all, Republicans just voted to kill Americans by stripping them of healthcare and food. Maybe talk about that. People will die because of the Medicaid and SNAP cuts.
