media literacy down the drain... this is commentary on the social algorithms that plague the "booktok" space, what it has boiled down to and not being able to escape, no matter the curation. The very algo we as writers MUST utilize to find readers. Our platforms to network are subpar and flooded.

as a writer, i truly despise being a part of the communities. not in the sense that writers shouldn't network and converse, but this push to "fix your writing", "ten things readers hate seeing", "i dnf a book when i see a character growl"... it leaves me so frustrated and pulled from my creativity.

The words ricocheted within Xochel. Never had they met someone so sure of themselves. So unbothered by the idea that Xochel couldn't possibly bring them unspoken and untold harm. Someone that wanted them around constantly. Someone that enjoyed their presence. Someone who didn't treat them like a burden.

Elric huffed an airy laugh as he commented, “Grief, pain, suffering, servitude, death… all things you could condemn me to… the utter havoc you could wreck in my life.” Silver eyes turning a pale purple, his voice deep, he uttered, “Even if I gain nothing but the pleasure of knowing you… I would beg you to wreck me again.”
