The # of classes we can offer depends on the # of sections allocated using the Ministry funding formula. Sections are disappearing due to cutbacks (quite disproportionate to any decline in enrolment). Need Grade 10 Math? Sorry, the classes are full and there is a months-long wait list for online!

I’ve been tracking my open water swimming this summer, with a goal of swimming 5 kilometres in one session. So far I’ve logged 63 km in total, with my longest swim a continuous series of laps around my bay totalling 6.25 km. Not bad for a 50+ yr old fat lady!

Thanks! I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to realize that investing in myself is actually GOOD for my family and my students! As a teacher and a Mom, I’ve always felt I should be putting others before myself, always. Being a martyr isn’t too helpful, so I’m trying a different approach!

I’m feeling proud of myself for every walk, swim, exercise session, and even for taking the time to read a good book in the shade, in my zero-gravity lawn chair. I still have lots of time to spend with family, and who knows? Maybe I’ll be so relaxed by August that I’ll actually get some work done!

July is almost over, and I’ve still accomplished next to nothing in the house. (Fridge needs cleaning, decluttering required…) but I FEEL GREAT!!!! My house will still be a mess in September, but I’ll be relaxed, energetic, and optimistic for the first time in years!
