We tell people in unbearable emotional pain to wait six months for a counsellor, yet street drugs offer a chemical solution in five minutes. Are we seeing a pattern with the UCP? Fires, floods and renovations disrupt substance-use services, then the province changes the model, relocates services or lets programs disappear instead of restoring what was there. Henwood raises that question. So does Poundmaker’s Day Program.

Large black text reads, “POINT HER IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION BY VOTING.” On the right, red and black text reads, “VOTE OPTION 1 TO REMAIN IN CANADA” and “NO TO THE NINE OTHER QUESTIONS.” The graphic uses the raised middle finger as a humorous visual reference to directing a political figure while encouraging voters to cast their ballots.

New lows seemingly hourly now from Bruce McAllister. He seems to be attempting to intimidate and silence credible critics of the UCP's overtly anti-immigrant referendum questions by engaging in demeaning and disrespectful attacks. It's Trumpian thug politics.
Disappointed but not surprised to see Duane waddling in here. It’s an easy one for him - cherry pick the ugliest possible reading of an issue and huff and puff some laurentian talking points as if he just discovered them. He’s entitled to his opinion, of course, but labelling these referendum questions “anti-immigrant” is lazy even by his standards.
Albertans have every right to weigh in on whether we want more control over the numbers, economic migrants first, and a wait before temporary residents tap the same health, education and social programs as citizens and permanent residents. You know, the generations of people who have built the province, and yes, the many respectful, hardworking, and thoughtful immigrants who came here the right way - before his idol Justin opened the borders to mass uncontrolled immigration. That’s not hate. That’s how you keep a welfare state from buckling.
If the big bad professor doesn’t support them, he’s free to say so. But calling them “anti-immigrant”? Sorry big guy - that’s not analysis. That’s just the slogan you brought from the rally.

A side that's behind in the polls can still win if the other side stays home. Try it with the Alberta separation vote.
