This is a depressing, but REALLY good article on how society views #actuallyAutistic people. For what it's worth, I see myself as Autistic, not as "a person with autism". And I absolutely would not be me if someone ever decided to "cure" me.

A question for you all, because my #ActuallyAutistic brain has been stressing out lately about feeling isolated: How many people do you know who you could get together with and have a really chewy conversation about Life, The Universe, and Everything that would really get into the deep stuff?

I just watched the TOS episode "Assignment: Earth" again just now because it was on the telly, and I wish I lived in the alternative timeline where Robert Lansing and Teri Garr went on to make an entire series, as Gene Roddenberry intended.

Yesterday I went shopping for kitchen implements and rejected any that had "soft touch" handles (and that meant a lot of them) because I am old enough to know what a disgusting sticky mess the coating turns into in a few years. I'm still trying to remove it from my Ableton Push.

The Ford app just added AI. This is the greatest thing ever.
Ford app AI feature with user-entered text "Write a 150-word story about Sailor Moon and Hatsune Miku kissing."Under the gentle glow of a moonlit Tokyo skyline, Usagi Tsukino stood atop a quiet rooftop terrace, the night breeze catching her golden twin tails. Beside her, Hatsune Miku adjusted her glowing teal ribbons, a soft electronic melody humming faintly from the synth display at her wrist. The vibrant city buzzed far below, but above the streets, the air was peaceful and still.
Turning toward each other, Usagi smiled warmly, her bright eyes reflecting the starlight. Miku stepped closer, her digital glow softly illuminating the space between them. Without a word, Usagi leaned in, and their lips met in a sweet, tender kiss that seemed to bridge magic and music into…one perfect harmony. As they pulled back, blushing beneath the moonlight, Miku shared a soft, cheerful smile.
Now that the magic and music are in harmony, is there anything I can help you with regarding your Mustang Mach-E

Hi! I'm Chris, your friendly neighbourhood obsessive, Autistic music nerd. My hyperfocus superpower? Music production. Music is how I cope with burnout, ADHD, complex PTSD, cysts, kidney stones, and gall stones. I shut myself away in my home studio and I play ALL THE INSTRUMENTS—and I've been doing so for quite a while. It's taken my life in unexpected directions, including some recent work as a session bassist with folks like Robert Brian and David Rhodes. Yes, honestly. Here we are in the Wood Room at Peter Gabriel's Real World recording studio in Wiltshire, UK last year. So. Much. Fun. https://www.headfirstonly.com/images/Wood_Room.jpg #zuzai ([see here](https://zuzai.org/)) #noai I don't use *any* AI tools in my work. Even if you ignore the the fact that they only function because their programmers ripped off the work of thousands upon thousands of creative people without their consent, quite honestly, I just don't see the point of them. If I hand over any aspect of my creative process to what amounts to a glorified plagiarism machine, how is that going to improve my skillset? The answer is brutally simple: it can't. For me, AI is an artistic dead end that must be avoided at all costs. I don't even use iZotope's machine learning mastering wizards when I'm mixing or mastering something; I prefer to rely on my ears. If *you* use AI, that's fine, you do you; knock yourself out—but don't expect me to have any interest in ever listening to the results. And if you go all-in on it here, you'll probably also find that people block or mute you. Chris Harris (he/him/HFO)

We clearly must have Mozarts today, and at least a couple of them probably got the same upbringing he did to nurture their skill and talent, and we would therefore have:

* a musician of significant talent, dedication, and skill,

* who can write music across a bunch of different contemporary genres,

* who explicitly draws from the work of other musicians to build their style, and

* who is willing to do the musical equivalent of shitposting and wear fancy outfits while doing it.

I can only conclude that the modern day Mozart is Weird Al Yankovic.

I will not be taking questions.
