Final touch added yesterday. I was waiting for the repositional spray crafting glue to arrive so I could add the stencil. In memory of my grandmother who built the garage.

I had hoped this summer to get an outlet added to my garage "camp" specifically for an iron for quilting. Doing so may require upgrading the garage from 60amp service. Unfortunately, the electrician has been very busy this summer and hasn't gotten to my place yet. #quiltsky

Today in Ham Radio news, I learned about the A Line parallel to the border with Canada. Apparently, it restricts use of the lower end of 70cm band, which is one of few available to Tech class. Maybe it should be taught at that level rather than in the Extra class? I'm above the A-Line! #hamradio

7/26 Cousin Update from his mom: He is off the ventilator & breathing on his own!! He's down to one IV antibiotic & the chest X-rays & CT scans show improvement! Lots of monitoring & close supervision ahead. This is a big step in the right direction! Keep Praying for improvement. Thank you so much♥️

My grand quilting related accomplishments so far this summer have been pairing down what needs to go north for the summer, getting it there, and cutting the top of my sewing table so my machine fits. That stopped me dead in my tracks while I pondered "to cut or not to cut." 😳 #quiltsky

Tonight on my radio I was able to hear a QSO between ham operators KF8AVC and N2FYA during the ISS fly over. Being in a geological kettle, my window is tight. I don't think I am heard with my 5watt handheld. Today I learned how to record the activity using my radio. KD3DEE #ISS #HAMRADIO

Got smoke? If the wild fires are making it hard to breath, consider trying this: (1) 20" box fan (4) 24" or (2) 48" bungee cords (2) 20" HEPA furnace filters Affix the air filters to the front and back of the box fan using bungee cords. Put the box fan in the room with you to filter the air.

Yesterday I picked up my new to me family hand me down Featherweight from the Sew'n Place quilt shop. They gave it a new foot/power cord, LED light and a proper spa day. It looks beautiful.

Quilt top was discovered during a shop hop. The kit and panel were from a class that sold out, so I bought the class sample. I used Freemotion quilting with a BSR foot throughout the panel.

After this quilt dries, I just need to chase threads & make a label. My hammock is my favorite place to dry quilts. This was a hand-me-down UFO. I admire the many Y seams. Thanks to those who suggested the tie method. I machine stitched flowers to tac it where you would put ties. #quiltsky

The top I'm working on was 100% hand pieced. It has a lot of wonky seams. Any tips for quilting it? Ironing isn't a good choice. It needs to be washed before an iron touches it. I only risked airing it on the hammock. I have no idea how old it is. The original maker has passed. #quiltsky

Those if who quilt w/computerized sewing machines, do you worry about the computer parts & weather shifts? I spend as much of summer as possible in the woods with no HVAC and occasionally big temperature swings. Mornings could be in the 30s/40s & highs could be in the 80s. . . . More
