Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 2hYeah the game utterly felt meaningless because even on commentary Neville was like “they’re going to get these points taken away from them”. We all know something is coming and I think the way City fans revelled in it? That means we have to see it done *soon*. 100
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 2hSurprised you still read that rag…I unsubscribed and haven’t looked back. 020
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 2hThat’s why cheating on this scale has to be punished so harshly that it’s not just seen as an acceptable cost of doing business and “worth it” 110
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 2hHe probably didn’t bank it in Norway. Probably Switzerland and their banks don’t tell anyone anything. 000
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 2hBingo. He still rode the bike better than everyone else on the road and we can’t take away from the skill that took. Am I doing this right? 010
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 15hPressure from them, maybe, nowhere else. I think if they’re in the title race that’s even more reason for them to be punished so it impacts this season. Imagine the season reviews of this season featuring both the news of them being found guilty and the image of them holding the trophy aloft. 010
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 15hI barely remember what Boro were punished for. Meanwhile everyone will still know what City did in 50 years. And if they were to win the title this season after that verdict? It will taint the league well into the future. It’s as big as Calciopoli. It’s the Lance Armstrong of football. 000
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 15hCompletely disagree. The world is meaningfully different, but football, its impact on the wider society? That’s no different now to then. The only thing that’s changed is the amount of spotlight and attention which is *more* reason to punish them, not less. 210
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 16hThat’s the bare minimum for an effective punishment imho. Anything less isn’t good enough. 010
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 16hNot sure why that’s relevant. It’s the same league, same ruling organisation and I’d argue the consequences of relegation are also much bigger than the consequences of “deciding the title”. 110
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 16hYeah, let’s not let nation states own football clubs. I’m hoping the PL has learned that lesson. 010
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 20hIt’d have to be relegation, transfer bans for multiple years and sale of the club to new owners that the PL oversees and okays. 230
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 20hI don’t disagree but they also need the punishment to stick. No good issuing a statement saying they’re being kicked out of the league only for them to fail to get the votes. 000
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 20hstatic.klipy.comWoman Points to 'THIS'ALT: Woman Points to 'THIS' 000
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 20hI don’t disagree. I think they have to navigate all the available options, full expulsion, points penalties, transfer bans, as well as how these may end up reduced on appeal. But it can’t drag on much longer surely. 100
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 20hBoro were relegated because of a points deduction in 1996/97. There’s precedent for deciding important stuff via points deductions. 140
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 20hThey may do both, points penalty and put a motion up for expulsion just to be safe, and if it passes they can suspend the points penalty for if/when they make their way back up. That might actually be the smartest way to punish this. 110
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 20hSadly it looks like that’s what’s going to happen. Expulsion doesn’t seem like it’s got the legs (clubs apparently reluctant to vote for that) whereas a points deduction and transfer ban don’t require a vote so they’ll probably get both of those (hopefully a 5 year ban). 020
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 20hExpulsion would require clubs voting for it and apparently there are more than 6 clubs who don’t want to vote for it so it wouldn’t pass the 14 vote mark. 200
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 20hThey have to be. The PL will get sued within an inch of their life if they don’t after deducting points from other clubs. The question is whether the appeal will work. If not they will absolutely get a points deduction. 240
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 23hExactly. No way a club who cooked up over £900m in sham contracts, used double contracts to compensate people off the books and who were then guilty of over 30 charges simply related to obstructing the investigation and not complying, would go so far as to pay refs off the books… 100
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 23hExactly the same logic. “He still rode the bike better than everyone else” 120
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 11/10/2026Again, if they did this, and they were coached by a man who failed two drug tests in his career…do we think it’s that far fetched to think they may also have resorted to drug doping and just gotten away with it? Anyone willing to cheat is willing to use every edge they can get. 110
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 11/10/2026This. All this “but it was off the pitch and the trophies were won on it” stuff ignores that the two are intertwined. They don’t have those players if they don’t cheat. They probably don’t have that manager either. One who has a history of drug doping too… 3140
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 11/10/2026I think the reverse is the safe one. Will try it for the Lille game. 010
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 11/10/2026We deserved to win. Leeds made sure it wasn’t easy but we absolutely were the deserved winners on the day. Just about? Sure. But Leeds are currently in 6th place. Above Man United. Above Villa. And while Everton, Newcastle and Liverpool have a game in hand, them too (for now). 010
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 10/10/2026In other words, while it’s laudable you’re calling out how women are treated (and sadly it’s not just online) reducing a woman’s value to her relationship to a man denies her value as a human being and her inherent right to be worthy of respect and treatment just by virtue of being one. 2210
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 10/10/2026This reminds me of something a friend once said. I was listening to him talk to another friend about online abuse that women face and my other friend said “don’t these guys realise that could be their sisters or their mum?” and my friend said “is that really the hill you want to die on?” 1140
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 10/10/2026And he’s similarly said that while he’s going to leave his kids plenty of money, they won’t be inheriting the vast bulk of his estate because he knows how too much inherited wealth is bad and there are worthy causes that deserve to have his money more. I do think his philanthropy deserves a mention. 030
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 10/10/2026Eh, I dunno. I think Noni and Kai’s movement was good (even if Gyokeres was better when he came on) but Saka was very poor first half. I do think that he was better second half though. And of course when your two best players (Odegaard and Saka) play better, you play better as a team. 100
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 10/10/2026I think both him and Bruno were so crucial when they came on. Someone to challenge the backline with hard running and someone who moves the ball quickly. 130
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 10/10/2026Ok the shirt is clearly the reason we lost to Brighton. My apologies. Won’t happen again. 170
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 10/10/2026Not sure there was much more he could do tbh. I don’t think there was space for a shot, Trafford stayed on his feet well and kept the angles closed off and then look at that pass for Saka (and he really should score there). 000
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 10/10/2026I definitely agree Brighton could easily have ended up being a game just like this had it not been for two long range goals largely out of nothing. The xG was nowhere near as bad as a 3-0 scoreline. Brighton maybe deserved the win but 3-0 flattered them imho. 000
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 10/10/2026I’m also a little concerned about Eze’s future tbh. He has to seize his chances when he gets them or I think he might be one we move on from next summer. Can’t be a passenger or luxury in a Mikel Arteta squad. Think Gyokeres is useful *if* he’s prepared to keep that hard running going. 200
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 10/10/2026Agreed but I also think when you move it faster it’s even more physically taxing to do what they were doing. You either make them cover more distance or you make them cover the distance faster. If you do neither they can keep it up all game (as Brighton did). 120
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 10/10/2026Yeah, I think Eze at Villa (he’s been far better since) will hopefully be a useful lesson for Noni. 000
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 10/10/2026I think we’re fine from an attacking perspective tbh. Eze’s barely going to get minutes centrally with all the guys ahead of him so he’s going to have to play wide. Noni’s done well on the left today. Think Gyokeres has even been good since coming on. No elite quality but we should have numbers. 100
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 10/10/2026The key since scoring has been how much quicker we’ve moved the ball. Lots of one touch stuff and that’s how you unsettle a disciplined defence like Leeds. 141
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 10/10/2026Yeah, think Brighton was the wrong game for him to start in that midfield. Maybe in place of Odegaard but who was leaving Odegaard out after how good he’s been this season? Tough decisions for the manager ahead. 110
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 10/10/2026Gyokeres motoring around though the middle there on the break was so good to see. We need that option. 1160
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 10/10/2026Brilliant. Not the first time he’s done that for us this season either. Think we’re gonna love that man. 110
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 10/10/2026Yeah, now I want Zubi. Just hold what we have. Control the game. 020
Hazbro @hazbro.bsky.social · 10/10/2026Fair, though I think B has been getting better since the changes. 110
