A lo-fi, unpretentious, aching-love-sound that feels like a rainy mid-late November overcast, slightly foggy, slightly misty, chill afternoon in the moors of England, severed from most all civilization for at least half a day’s travel by foot—the sole method of transport to and from that area, unless you want to draw a carriage, but the horses have migrated south to spend these cooler months in Spain for orchard grazing, a pleasant vacation from the other eight carriage-drawing months of the year, seven should parliament get their act together—ahem—cuddled up in bed with a gentle lover watching the rain outside, listening to it rapt against the window panes as you speak softly to each other about how at peace you are and how far each of you has come out of the darkness, and that you don’t need to know how long this peace will last, only that it’s here now and you are so lucky, so blessed, so glad to spend it with you, the long marathon across time and space paused, if for just a day, to allow both of you a moment to breathe, to breathe each other, to breathe freedom and all sanctuary that extends from it.
