Branson captures the vibe of slop youtube thumbnails better than maybe any other artist

Two fake youtube thumbnails from the most recent Swanboy, one titled "HURTING WOMEN'S FEELINGS the permanent way" and one titled "The Suit of Armor That Kept Europe From Becoming Gay (and how we might hasten its return)"

I believe you could have an audiostreamplayer that has a body of sounds handled like this (see attached image). This can get super granular and nested, you could have multiple layers of interactive audio with discreet modes of shifting between one another all in one audiostreamplayer.

Asses of undead dragons (there are several top halves in game, one of which leaves behind the back half). A massive level made up of majority these 😭

Godot's audiostreamplayer is shockingly robust. Not really testing its limits at all right now, but goddamn is the adaptive shifting satisfying.

Piano players who spend time touching the inside! Does this notation make intuitive sense? I'm attachibg a video illustrating how it sounds in the next part of the thread.

A piano staff with the left hand marking harmonics and rests while the right hand trills in triplets with +'s all over (muting of the string)

It's been wayyyyy too long, time to write an angular and repetitive piece for piano

Manuscript sketches of sheet music showcasing different angular gestures over an E pedal point played on the strings

Re-building this slur in Dorico (score available on IMSLP btw) was my number one priority for the score and took a HILARIOUSLY long time

The same passage as above but rendered in swanky Bravura font via Dorico

I have to add the Actual Greatest Slur in music to the conversation

A 3 stave, cluster laden piano system with a slur that curly-kews around the bottom staves with abandon

What a great fucking start to the week from a grandparent who has mostly tried to be normal about me being trans. Fucking shit. I hate this shit so fucking much

I love you and I will stand with you. That is what I need you to know. When did you start to think you were in the wrong body?
Was it after you started to go to a Psychologist? Was it after you took the vaccine for Covid 19? Did they check your testosterone ? Some peoples testosterone dropped after they took it. I know you are now on female hormones.
Please take a step back and listen to people who are regretting their choice. Just know that I Love you and that God Loves you.
Please don't hate me because I care enough to ask.

Reading about the history of IV treatments

In 1656 Sir Christopher Wren and Robert Boyle worked on the subject. As stated by Wren, "I Have Injected Wine and Ale in a liveing Dog into the Mass of Blood by a Veine, in good Quantities, till I have made him extremely drunk, but soon after he Pisseth it out." The dog survived, grew fat, and was later stolen from his owner. Boyle attributed authorship to Wren. [59]

Gigantic Zelda and Metroidvania inspired world! Immaculately designed and rich with secrets. No map* by the way. Remember where you went, fuck you. *no, a map with this level of detail doesn't count.

A blobby indistinct map of the US showing gigantic color coded regions (west, midwest, south, and northeast)

Mina the Hollower is great so far but I can't help but feel this way about the first dungeon's bosses

A two part mspaint comic
First half portrays BLOODMANGLER THE FORGOTTEN
"Three phase monstrosity
20 feet tall
Every greatnail string causes a "bloodsplosion"
Teleports
Has lightning fast multi-hit combos
Swats you out of the air
Beaten in four attempts
Best boss you have ever seen"
The second half features the adult sea cucumber
"Eats rocks, poops sand, has brain damage
Summons annoying fucks
Random repositioning is deadlier than actuall attacks
15 attempts to beat
Abysmal dogshit"

I had a terrible nightmare about having accidentally plagiarized the main theme for the game from a random riff in Temple of Doom. upon awakening it turns out that's not the case and the theme does slap a fair bit (I'm trying to go very 80s sword and sorcery for the orchestration flavor)

this is all HEAVILY sketch-based still but the meat is on the bones here (notable inspirations include TotK Ganondorf phase 1 music and Fulghor, Champion of Nightglow from Nightreign. I wanna see if I can steal some stuff from Rajang in MH also)

It's been a minute since I've written some vaguely heinous polymeter (Sketches for the game proceed apace)

A system of music in Dorico with a dissonant guitar passage in alternating 7, 6, and 5/8. The percussion section above it is in a consistent 15/16, with them finally aligning at the end of the system thank god

My actual favorite shot in this movie is like 3 before this but the entire sequence is just 100/10 and this shot perfectly illustrates the sheer empty devastation

Black and white Russian winter mid-blizzard that looks even more miserable than that descriptor

I'm imagining a world where this dialogue just goes on indefinitely due to being an llm and it makes me sad because I think I've put good character into it! (For context Ceres is alive but in the afterlife and Shey-ra is a spirit. Ceres has also recently sacrificed some healthbar to help people)

Gentle splashing and flowing water. Bisexually colored corals stick out of shallow water like a mangrove forest. As Ceres takes her first steps into the water, Mother Shey-ra comes up behind her.
Mother Shey-ra:
Well Ceres, I'm very glad to see you haven't ended up like me!
Ceres:
Like you?
Shey-ra:
Dead!
She laughs raucously.
Ceres:
Ha... yeah.
Shey-ra:
I heard from the Souls in the forest about what you did for them. I can see it in you. Your light has dimmed.
Ceres:
Shey-ra:
That was a selfless thing to do. If a little reckless. The Huntress would approve.
Ceres:
I'm worried about what else I'll need to give up. The Spiregate is so far away. What else will I lose?
Shey-ra:
I was the Moon's Matriarch. What do you think I am
going to tell you?
Ceres:
To let down whatever burdens I carry. To see the Hunt to its conclusion.
Shey-ra:
Well-studied, Realmward. If my Pilgrimage is to reduce me to my barest essence, perhaps yours is as well. Now get a move on! A woman as old as me shouldn't be outrunning a girl as young as you.
She hobbles off at immense speed.

9 games that over the course of 15 years rewired the way I think of games as an artistic medium (NieR should be on there twice between Gestalt and Replicant 1.22 but I have restraint) (Also there was no option to put the entire Dark Souls trilogy but that goes between Majora and NieR)

Twilight Princess (blew my mind in about 2010)
Lisa: the painful (nuked me from orbit in 2015)
Majora's Mask (broke my heart in 2016)
NieR Replicant (ripped me apart in 2019 and again in 2021)
Sekiro (broke my body in 2020)
Final Fantasy VI (inspired me in 2021)
Thumper (rewired me to violent bass in 2021)
Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree (showed me that sometimes the mysteries of the world are buried for a reason in 2024)
Hollow Knight Silksong (I don't know where to even start this is one of the pinnacles of the medium like what the fuck)
