Traveling just a bit further down memory lane, I found that GitHub repo while researching the development team behind the White House mobile app, which was also quite the trip. Please remind me again: who is the idiot? hax4libre.com/jokers-wild

For an even better idea of how the White House uses your data when they think nobody is looking, have a look at my teardown of a public GitHub repo I found earlier this year containing a pre-release version of their browser extension and its WordPress plugin. ravenwoodintel.com/redline-exte...

Redline: Analyzing the Next White House Surveillance App
This is not a benign communication platform; it's a deliberately architected, state-sponsored surveillance apparatus.

Because I believe in showing my work, I put together this little infographic highlighting the White House claim that they don't store user data and the privacy policy describing several ways in which they admit to storing user data. You can't make this stuff up!
Screenshots with markup showing the disconnect between White House claims that America[dot]gov doesn't store user data, and the America[dot]gov privacy policy explaining some of the ways it stores user data.

Crisis management is 'ride the horses until they die.' That's sort of how the culture works. It's not any individual leader. It's the entire leadership culture. So everybody has this idea that once in crisis, you must simply work until you drop. forkingoff.com/jeremy-boss/

ICYMI. The Washington Sun cited our analysis of an early version of the White House's browser extension. That early version included a planned feature to refer users to the Secret Service for investigation. Some features were removed following our report, but it continues to track user behavior.

Excellent writing! Love the foreshadowing in the closing hinting at a new investigation opened circa late 2025: 🍿 "It centered on South Carolina, one of the states Navatek eyed for a rapid expansion. The FBI had questions about a steak dinner Kao shared with Sen. Lindsey Graham."

After much persistence over the last 24 hours, she succeeded! We got 3 tickets. With the number of tickets intermittently coming available, presumably someone is attempting to combat the bots. If so, that would be an interesting story for JPL to share in the future. Either way, we're super excited!🥳

I never got through the queue. My wife got through, but then all of the "tickets" disappeared before she could select any of them. That's not a functional queue. Apparently this happened to others as well. It definitely feels like bots were outcompeting humans. Pretty disappointing for our 13 yo.

One thing that often gets lost in the coverage of DOJ is that there are still good people there doing good work. But they are working under unthinkably difficult situations, as Stacey Young said on Forking Off. That’s why Justice Connection was started.

I thought it tacky when USAA, a private bank, announced their billboard/memorial on the National Mall, but for-profit patriotism is the rage in DC now. So, I ignored it. Now, USAA is informing it's customers, who chose not to opt-in, that it's adding their name to its billboard anyways. What the 🤬?

The White House just brought back letters of marque. This raises questions: "An action will be considered to generate a Critical Outcome if it is likely that it will result in the loss of life or serious injury; or, rise to the level of use of force or armed attack under international law."

Well that's interesting. If it's not from Flock (which it obviously isn't), then it kind of makes you wonder who would be so motivated as to try and scare opponents out of disparaging Flock? 🤔 It also carries potential federal, state, and civil penalties. Someone didn't think this through.

This could be the unspoken truth they're using to justify the lie. He's doing well = he's conscious. We had a long conversation = I talked. He occasionally responded. He's improving = He's able to breathe and eat soft foods. Less conspiratorial than Weekend at Bernie's, but still a cover-up.

It would be so visibly obvious as to be undeniable. Doctors may say there's a chance with therapy he'll improve. But anyone who's seen him or gone through it before would know: He'll never be the same again, and he can't function as a Senator.

He may be alert and oriented, but only be able to speak a few simple words and phrases. His face would droop on one side. He'd occasionally cry or laugh uncontrollably. He'd need assistance with basic motor functions. He may live many more years, but he'd never lead the Senate again.
