not for images that aren't greyscale, the Dota 2 shaders used to mix all of their greyscale images into the individual RGBA channels of a single Targa file. But it's generally easier to keep all your texture images as their own separate files. Also depends on the way an engine takes texture files.

Enemy team was chewing on us for 36 minutes while Medusa farmed unbothered, we managed to hit four item timings all at once and the entire enemy team just got too complacent. Enemy Phantom Assassin was pissed. Crazy turn around.

I’m literally writing a seminar about this exact concept. That game art is not just some aspiration, it is a “job”. Some of my classmates didn’t really grasp this idea and dropped out really early. And there’s nothing wrong with that, but the kids gotta understand the expectations.

Nintendo REALLY wants to show us, they finally figured out how to use normal maps and depth maps. And to really hammer it home they put specular highlights on everything, even the matte surfaces.
