Oil prices are in fact, not normal.

WTI crude is at nearly $90/bbl
Brent is over $94/bbl

Even dark tanker traffic through Hormuz is likely to slow/end again. US SPR is under 290m/BLS with another report due tomorrow (Wednesday).

On the "plus" side of thing's however, the current projected time frame for the US SPR to hit the statutory floor is just before the election. If Trump pushes through that, he could get into a very noisy legal battle about depleting the SPR below legally mandated levels. If he slows thing's down, gas prices go up.

Either way, there's a decent chance that people will not be happy going into the midterms. Trump is getting "Cartered."
