I’m probably the only person on this planet who, for whatever reason, owns three separate sealed copies of Zoop.

I really like Sonic Origins and think it’s a great way to play the classics overall, but one thing that brings it down is they didn’t include the Easter egg where Knuckles shoos you on your way in Sky Sanctuary in Sonic 3 & Knuckles. I made this video comparing the original to Origins.

What’s your favorite Special Stage from the classic Sonic games? I’ve always been a Blue Spheres guy myself.

Happy 30th Anniversary to the North American launch of Nintendo 64! I’ll never forget the first time I saw Super Mario 64. It blew me away. It was one of the most impressive technical leaps in gaming history. The N64 is still to this day one of my favorite game consoles ever.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the Sega Game Gear has so much going for it. It has really cool level themes and a great soundtrack! I just wish it didn’t have so much “screw the player” design. If this game wasn’t so full of cheap deaths, it might be among my favorites on the system.

The Sonic concert was awesome! Lots of the iconic songs were performed on stage, but also unexpected stuff like medleys from Sonic R, Sonic 3D Blast, Sonic Rush, and the Sonic Advance series. It was a cool experience!

That time SEGA ran out of ideas when making a Sonic game so they just threw in another one of their games.

Happy 40th Anniversary to the original arcade release of the SEGA classic, OutRun! This iconic racer is a lot of fun and has a great soundtrack.

I keep seeing people online talk about the video game “Wolverine” so I started playing it myself and yes this is indeed pretty bad.

Happy 25th Anniversary to the launch of the Nintendo GameCube! While it has some great Nintendo games such as F-Zero GX and WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Party Games!, Sonic especially had an AMAZING run on this console and I played so much Sonic on this system, both new and old games.

My predictions for tomorrow’s Zelda Direct: - Ocarina of Time footage and information - Movie trailer - Twilight Princess in some form, either HD or on NSO - Some sort of weird cross-over no one would expect And my biggest out-there, WTF prediction: - A complete remake of Zelda 1

I’ve played some really cool stuff at PAX West, but I want to specifically shoutout @royaltyfree4all.bsky.social and @polyfightergame.bsky.social for being really fun to play and also having really awesome people running the booths that are cool to chat with.

The Sega Saturn classic NiGHTS into Dreams has some truly wonderful environments, but I think my favorite level in the game is Soft Museum. Everything is all rubbery and it’s like flying through a giant bouncy house!

Eggman really had a miniature sized Sonic that he could easily squash right in front of him and thought “I’ll just use this machine here and there’s NO way Sonic can stop me this time unless he happens to twist the knob and bunch of times and make all the capsule prizes come out”.

I really enjoyed Epic Yarn while I played through it, but that was possibly the most “one and done” game ever for me because I have no interest to ever play it again. 😆

Spring Yard Zone in Sonic 1 would be SO good if there weren’t these things all over the place slowing things down so much. Just… why?

020

Hat Stack Mike @hatstackmike.bsky.social · 24/08/2026

Sonic Lost World is kind of an inconsistent mess of a game with all kinds of ideas thrown at the wall to see what sticks, but Honeycomb Highway (Desert Ruins Zone 2) is a LOT of fun and by far the highlight of the game. I wish more levels in Lost World were as good as this.

I never really see people talk about how in Sonic Origins they enlarged and enhanced the graphics for single-player runs in Sonic 3’s competition mode to fit the whole screen. That’s really cool that they did that.
