Reminds me of this.
A stock photo of a woman holding a soldering iron by its tube, which gets almost as hot as its tip, instead of its handle. There are numerous other problems with the photo.

“All poopoo times are peepee times, but not all peepee times are poopoo times. Don’t ever forget that!” - Skull Knight

“Who are you!? How do you know me…!?” - Guts

A pivoted scene from the famous long running manga, Berserk.

Just needs to be tacticool.
A historically “accurate” tacticooled musket, most notably with telescope and lantern attachments.

On the bright side, they were able to build new ones from old and new materials. That's not to say it isn't indicative of a problem, but some methods disappear not from negligence but lack of need. Just like the NASA example, there are new methods to do the same old things, and rebuild knowledge.
Imax says it rebuilt as many film projectors as possible in-house, but some obsolete parts made it virtually impossible to find manufacturers because the components are complex to produce and the market is too small. The effort ultimately resulted in 41 Imax 70mm locations worldwide for “The Odyssey,” up from 30 for “Oppenheimer” (a net increase of 11 after one projector was lost during the process).

If a lowly pleb uses it to stroke their ego they get fired, but if the boss does they get to burn the business to the ground.
But this time, his employer didn't take well to the Al's input.

"I expressed my concerns directly to my supervisor and the company owner," said the tech worker. "Shortly afterward, I found myself unemployed."

Kassidy Yates, Joseph Sisko, Dr. Soong, the particle fountain guy, Soliton wave drive, restarting dead stars, etc. The article sure does take a long time being very wrong.
“As with a real socialist societies, there is no independent entrepreneurship, no economic dynamism, no driven iconoclastic creativity in Star Trek future society.”

The phaser ball turret wouldn’t fit much more than the guts of a few hand phasers internally. It would have made sense to let it look oversized, maybe fit a half size phaser dumb bell. Though it’s possible the ball is all emitter and the power stuff hangs below.
A ship board phaser weapon mounted on a gimbal attached to a fixed control station, beamed down to Talos IV to blast a mysterious door. From TOS episode “The Cage”.

I knew something was off when he ran with this slogan, but everyone refuses to tell me what it means.
Cuomo with his infamous Cum for Mayor campaign slogan. He claimed he didn't realize what the term meant, but we all know he knew exactly what he was doing.

Sorry to burden you with more knowledge. Notice the general shape of the bridge and its position over the ship. Yep.

That reminds me of the previous Corvette interior. It’s a much more subtle version but I think it was going for that locked in, driver focused, fighter cockpit effect too.
Corvette C8 interior with its notable linear arrangement of buttons along a central divider, angled slightly to the driver.

Those bubble work vehicles are prescient, just not for space. Except if you’re working up close even in space then max vision radius is a great thing. Use the Into Darkness prison wall tech to get in and out. www.syfy.com/syfy-wire/tr... myelectricsparks.com/bubble-subma...

It almost had a saucer slapped on, among other hull shapes, and it looked really bad. Well, too normal. Getting turrets to play nice with conventional Starfleet ships is hard.
An early attempt at a hull for the Jutland, with all sorts of lozenge shape hulls, and most notably a couple tries at placing a saucer.

One last thing, if you don't want the torpedo pod above the bridge, what about more neck tubes?
Enterprise-D neck with three extra torpedo tubes. It should be capable of launching 20 torpedoes in one volley, since the single tube can simultaneously launch 5.

Post a non religious picture you think of as holy
VHS scan distorted image of General Gowron on the bridge of the USS Enterprise-D yelling, eyes characteristically bulging. Subtitles state, “everyone was harmed during the making of this video.”

Definitely not unions. It's the lack of price controls, lack of long term consistency and planning, and penny pinching in the wrong places. It creates opportunities for scamming, and piles on inefficiency.
1. Developing In-House Expertise. The Federal Governmetn should have an agency that is responsible for rail project planning and design that does not rely on the expertise of outside consultants. It is not inherenty within the interests of the private entities to keep costs down. With in-house expertise comes the ability to make snensible tradeoffs between performance and cost as well as demand a higher standard from contractors. Where internal experitise does not exist, technology transfer agreements should be put in place so that expertise can be grown internally.
2. valuing Technical Scoring in the Bidding Process. Bids should be highly weighted towards technical expertise as that is highly correlated with successful project delivery. This Reduces the likelihood of a party underbidding and escalating their prices after the bid has been won.
3. Employing Itemized Contracts. Contracts are tendered out knowing the quantity of each item and its agreed upon price. Price lists with floors and ceiliings help in evaluting whether a bid is realistic or not. Itemized contracts prevent change orders from causing lengthy delays due to disagreements and litigation.
4. Segmenting Projects Into SMaller Contracts. Diving a large public works project into smaller contracts helps foster competition and creates redundancy in case of one of the contractors fails.
5. Establishing a Labour Agreement for the Duration of the Project. This creates certainty when it comes to costs and constuction timelines.
6. Establishing Consistent Codes and Standards for the Duration of the project. This adds certainty and reduces the likelihood of costly projects alterations and delays.
7. Generating Greater Public Awareness of the Project. Providing transparency and frequent updates helps maintain support for the project and keeps those involved honest.

Big gun, low maneuver, high defense ships. Despite many setpiece battles in the 24th century, high maneuverability, maximum acceleration has been the primary defenses of ships since the mid-23nd. 22nd ships relied on long range bombardment and close fast turrets to make up for poor maneuvering/def.
23rd century battleship WIP. It uses an unusual all-or-nothing arrangement with defenses and main armaments focused ventrally, and command sections focused dorsally.A failed late 23rd century ship utilizing massive turrets and broadside armaments, next to the Excelsior for scale. It's propulsion requirements lead to frequent unstable wormholes, and its doctrinal theory proved inadequate. The class never entered serial production.

I was just on the Warthunder forum and this was leaked. Starfleet has been keeping secrets from us again.
Apparently the Essex class has ten rearfacing double-tube torpedo launchers hidden behind sliding doors. Who knew! Thank you unknown Warthunder leaker.

Every episode ended like this.
An image captured from a VHS cassette and distorted at the top due to being paused. It is Gowron forcefully explaining that, "everyone was harmed during the making of this video."

Here's the photo I was thinking of, thanks to @portalrealm.bsky.social and their archive. From the top down the bay isn't round. It's shadow is also somewhat three sided, versus the shadows of the four other sections which are ovals. archive.frogland.co.uk/Physical%20M...
A photo of what I assume is the original model for Star Trek The Original Series' space station K7.

Gowron's eyes luridly pulse and stare through your soul to your warrior spirit. You cannot look away, you are mesmerized. Only thoughts of glorious victory fill your mind. Throughout your being rings one word. Qapla'!
