Research dissemination alone doesn’t change practice. Clinicians must elevate research and apply it. Partner with researchers to shape meaningful questions, open our clinics to research, and encourage patient participation. Progress requires true partnership. #HAPC26 #palliativecare #hospice

If all patients meet #PalliativeCare early in serious illness, in my experience probably... 1/3 who won't/don't find it helpful 1/3 who are uncertain early, but see/get the benefit later 1/3 who get benefit from the start So let PC meet everyone and let patients vote with their feet. #Hapc25

We are doing a GeriPal podcast on caring for people with serious illness and substance use this Thursday with some amazing palliative care & addiction medicine providers. What burning questions do you have (some of mine are below) #medsky #palliative #hospice
Question’s on cancer pain & SUD

Is buprenorphine your go-to for pain and SUD?
What do you do about prn opioids?
Do you do pill counts and UDTs on everyone?
How many days of opioids do you give out?
When should PC refer to addiction medicine?
What does the palliative care clinic do when cancer is cured, but they still have SUD needs?
