I know that mourning doves are common but I think they’re sweet. This young one decided to shelter at the kitchen window so I fed it. After eating it settled in for a nap. The extra glass is to prevent squirrels from reaching the bird feeder which we took in due to the weather. #nyc #doves

I had to run an errand in Brooklyn this morning so I brought my camera and stopped by a little inlet in Greenpoint/Williamsburg. It was a pleasant walk and I saw an American Redstart, and many monarchs. #birding #brooklyn

I came across a lost budgie in Sunnyside Queens (at the Greenmarket at Skillman and 41st) at 8am. It flew further down towards 42/43rd after a dog ran through. I posted it in a missing pets group but am posting here as well in case someone is missing their bird. #lostbird #sunnyside #queens

Our kitchen right now. We did not use it to cook. It’s simply one room in our apartment without a window unit. Folks complain about the *suggestion* that rooms be cooled to 78 degrees but that’s aspirational for us! Thankfully the bedroom is 78 and the heatwave ends Sunday. #NYC #TooHot
