…that they are finicky & most combinations of adapters & PC GPUs don’t always work write, Nintendos advantage here is that they are writing drivers & microcode specific for this fixed & predictable hardware platform (T239 GPU + RealTek 2175n adapter), is the only reason why they could get it to work

This is largely and likely because Nintendo wrote specific specialized microcode for the Realtek 2175n adapter chip in the Switch 2 dock that allows the Switch 2 to send out adaptive sync signals and translate/time it perfectly for that chip only - it’s just the reality of USBC to HDMI adapters…… /1

This is such a wrong and unserious opinion 😂😭 Rockstar are the biggest milkers of all time in this industry and the worst part is their game and level design never actually evolves its just the graphics lmao

Wrong the triggers feel terrible, every game I’ve played that uses the adaptive triggers make the triggers feel like they’re straight up broken or that something is mechanically wrong with them in an unpleasant way. And to make it worst they drain the shit outta the battery. Terrible gimmick feature

It is indeed unfortunate competing manufacturers get in the way of consumers enjoy the benefits of new and good technologies

As far as I’m aware most of the HDMI VRR issues happened with early TV models when HDMI 2.1 was new & being rolled out, since then many manufacturers have improved VRR performance & compatibility, still tho the adoption rate and usage of VRR for consoles is probably low, if not gradually increasing

and then put a warning in there that it may or may not work depending on your TV, but that’s true of many other standard HDMI features over the years (like HDMI-CEC), it’s no different than what Sony did with the PS5, VRR in both handheld and docked was clearly important for Nintendo from the jump

I’d argue that Nintendo has a better chance with making it work than with random PC hardware configs using random adapters with any combo of displays. Nintendo can write integrated microcode specifically targeting one console and one USB C to HDMI adapter inside the dock….

@oliemack.bsky.social also of note: Nintendo of America has a job posting looking for a display engineer with very specific experience in troubleshooting display protocol/VRR issues between HDMI and DisplayPort signalling: careers.nintendo.com/jobs/4101432...

Not sure if you’ve seen this already but back in March of this year Nintendo published a patent for their Switch 2 VRR implementation for both handheld & docked mode : worldwide.espacenet.com/patent/searc... Might finally be some solid evidence that they are working to patch in VRR for docked mode?

“save one person” dude please go touch grass. Normal people buy games and game consoles to enjoy playing videos in their leisurely time, not to modify their system or “preserve” their games for 50 years or whatever other weird ass chronically online loser stuff is being implied here

Genuinely, what is the purpose of posting a personal opinion like this online? Like nobody asked and I promise you nobody cares that you’re choosing to not buy something.

This is IP theft - the kind that Nintendo should actually rightfully sue google for. But beyond that….. why? just why?

This wasn’t discussed in the video, but is the Shadows Switch 2 port using lite DLSS or the full CNN DLSS model?

They will absolutely port it to consoles bc Valve is a 3rd party publisher. Hell, they released the portal games on switch around the same time they launched the SteamDeck, so clearly they don’t care about the concept of exclusivity like so many want them to now that they’re making a PC TV box lol

Nobody cares and hundreds of millions of people will still end up buying the Switch 2 and play Nintendo games and you’ll be left out. Like this narrative and whining is getting so old you people need to grow up lmao

Theoretically, Nintendo could actually use basic/cheaper 64GB game cards with much lower read/write speed as ‘installer cards’ with compressed game data (that could fit even the ‘biggest’ AAA games minus 4K textures). It would definitely be cheaper but by how much exactly remains to be seen.

It’s not like the video game industry is cranking out a crazy number of new releases on a regular basis anymore anyways, so it’s not that big of a deal. It’s a solid launch line up.
