I live in Stockholm, Sweden. The SL (Stockholms Lokaltrafik) uses a font and colour scheme that is very consistent and quite distinct across the city. No idea how appreciated it is by others, but I really like it.

What a scummy, dark pattern-y implementation of a payment window from @musescore.bsky.social. I only spotted this because I thought: - Why am I was getting a discount? - Why is a toggle next to the price? (Just to be clear, I didn't ask for the subscription to be included, it was opt-out)
A screenshot of a payment window from Musescore.com. It shows checkboxes checked for "No commitments", "Secured personal and payment data", "Up to 60% discount on scores, books, and courses" then showing a price of "SEK 23.00 for this score", with a toggle next to it, toggled on.
Underneath the price, in smaller text reads "Get up to 60% discount with PRO+ membership. Charge Today: kr 0. 7-day free then 3 months at kr 639".
Meaning the payment wouldn't just be for the sheet music, but also for signing up for the membership subscription.A screenshot of a payment window from Musescore.com. It shows checkboxes checked for "No commitments", "Secured personal and payment data", but then a red cross on "Up to 60% discount on scores, books, and courses" then showing a price of "SEK 104.00 for this score", with a toggle next to it, toggled off.
Underneath the price, in smaller text reads "No discount. Turn on to switch to apply your 78% discount".

Bit unfortunate there for the NYT.

Pretty sure that's a dice tray for D&D dice.

Excellent Quick Cryptic crossword today from @theguardian.com No Charades or Double Definitions or other weird, difficult stuff. But a new(?) category called "Voice" which was immensely fun ☺️
Screenshot have a quick cryptic crossword in the guardian app. The instructions state that the clues could be anagrams, hidden words, acrostics, or voices. The first clue is "as Sean Connery says, unmarried people getting viral diseases (8)" the answer being "Shingles"

This (pictured) is basically the cause of the my frustration. On Google TV, I don't have Amazon Prime, or Viaplay, or Crunchyroll, or Apple TV (etc.) installed, nor want to receive "recommendations" (advertising) about them. On Google TV, it's not clear why. BUT on the Web, all is revealed:
A popup/settings menu prompting the user to "Select your services" which provides Google knowledge of how to tailor recommendations for the user. At the bottom is a caveat saying "You'll also see content that's free of charge, or available for rent or purchase from these services." and then a list of services including: YouTube, Viki, Google Play Movies & TV, Apple TV, Viaplay, PLEX, Amazon Prime Video and Crunchyroll - the last two of which is just out of frame.

See, easy peasy!:
A screenshot of some text stating: "11903 is a prime and has the 'Harmelodic' tests: Take the 1,000,000s, multiply by 148, and add to the rest. Multiply the units by 3571 and add."Pen & paper calculations showing that 68,846,952 is divisible by 11903, by performing calculations on segments of numbers to shrink the number down to a smaller number that is "easier" to determine whether it is divisible by 11903.

Nope! All posts are stored in public repositories that anyone can read - it's intrinsic to the design. See the section called "Data Privacy" in the FAQ: bsky.social/about/blog/5... That setting is simply to "discourage" apps from showing your account to logged out users. It doesn't block anything.
A screenshot of the "Logged-out visibility" settings in Bluesky settings. There is one toggle named "discourage apps for showing my account to logged-out users". The setting is explained as: "Bluesky will not show your profile and posts to logged out users. Other apps may not honor this request. This does not make your account private. Note Bluesky is an open and public network. This setting only limits the visibility of your content on the Bluesky app and website, and other apps may not respect this setting. Your content may still be shown to logged-out users by other apps and websites."

Arrived in the post! I've been having a lot more architectural & advice conversations, sessions and workshops with teams in the last couple of years. I think they've gone well, but I feel a need to level up. This and @facilitatingswarch.bsky.social should help a bit! 🤞

No shade on the guy making the videos (I have never watched these, this is just a YouTube algorithm recommendation) but... The combination of: - How to play - Part 5 (implying there are 4 previous parts) - Cycle One (implying future cycles) - it's 35 minutes long is hilariously ridiculous.
A screenshot of a YouTube video recommendation. The title is "How to play Aeon Trespass Odyssey - Part 5 - Cycle One" from a YouTube channel called "Gaming Rules!". The video is marked as being 35 minutes and 40 seconds long.

It was more "A History of Western Societies, followed by some quite biased essays on political topics, occasionally being offensive, dismissive, or both" The writing-style is inconsistent, but quite smug at times, for instance this final "I illustrated rather than informed" comment:
A snippet from the book: Politics: A Very Short Introduction.
The snippet reads: "This introduction ends, then, with an example of political theory, an argument likely to provoke disagreement, perhaps even a bit of outrage. And if it does do that, it will have succeeded in illustrating one more aspect of the many-sided thing we have been studying. Farewell."

Disgusting. 35GB for Windows. This, the new AI features, the Ads, the classic ol' Windows bullshit has led me to decide: I'm going back to Linux, again. I came back to Linux for gaming before, but Proton & the SteamDeck have helped Linux be good for gaming.

Man, I really despise the arsehole at Google who came up with the idea that these should be Ad "Privacy" features when they are just Ad Enablement features. I don't really understand how this isn't fraud.

Ah, so this is why. A bug in Bluesky means only posts that are less than a few days old show up. So they patched in pulling from other feeds (not a good decision, imo). And then haven't communicated that in-app 🙄
