I have three pottery pumpkins 🎃 which surprises no one. Here’s one of wearing another as a jaunty hat. I also prop up my iPad while I’m cooking to old Miss Marple episodes. My third 🎃 is one of the wonderful glosters pottery ones but I’m too lazy to go and photograph it.

I keep buying sweet potatoes and then ignoring they exist. It’s shamelessly wasteful, so before they shriveled up this time I made pancakes out of them. I’d add a spoon more gf flour next time to stiffen the mix but it was a pretty good job judging (guessing) volumes/ratios.

I needed to use up ripe tomatoes, courgette and onion from the allotment. I wanted something more flavoursome than passata and found a recipe for ‘Polish Ketchup’. Using all those veg plus paprika, chili, sugar, salt and apple cider vinegar.

As you’ll have assumed, I love artisan, homemade stuff that’s a bit wobbly and the glaze has dripped funny. The same goes for soaps. However, I recently made the mistake of buying a black licorice soup that makes it look like a runny shit is swirling on the soap dish.

I made butter! 🧈 I also batch cooked eight meals worth of leek and potato soup to use up allotment stock. I whizzed in cottage cheese to up the protein and make it creamy. Can someone remind me which century I live in?

I had a big cooked beetroot left over from the allotment haul last night so I blended it with oats, Greek yoghurt, eggs and baking powder and had savoury beetroot pancakes. I’d do it again! I have a few left so might try them with a sweet topping next time.

I took Kingsley to a vet today. He’s a young entire male with a catastrophic parasitic load. It caused his red blood cells to be TEN TIMES lower than it’s supposed to be. In the vet’s words his blood is like pink tinged water. His gums were WHITE.
