I’m surviving with a fan using the space blanket hack. Sure my neighbours think I’m insane because my windows are covered in silver Mylar now and my home is safe for vampires, but it’s made it 10 degrees cooler inside. (Mylar taped to outside of windows to avoid risk of glass cracking.)

The ideal hand position, according to the Spencerian authors.

The hand and wrist are relaxed, the pen held in a loose tripod between thumb, forefinger, and second finger, with the pen resting against the second finger and the thumb's tip on the pen just behind the lowest joint of the forefinger, while the third and fourth fingers touch their fingernails to the page. The wrist is not touching the table. The pen is held at a 45 degree angle to the page, the tip of the nib square on to the paper, not leaning to either side.

I remember those stickers! Everybody seems to have had one of these Parker 25 school pens. Mine still writes fine.

New fountain pen from Platypus Pens in Australia! Is it geeky to be joyously happy about a 3D printed fountain pen? Because this makes me squee. Stickers from Bartrum's stationers in Hay On Wye. There was new ink obtained too...

The pen is torpedo-shaped, dark shiny grey with a spiralling helical pattern that makes the light zigzag along its length. The cap band is made from un-patterned silver filament.
